I'm a nurse who just started traveling. Have just bought our first camper so that we can venture out further from home. We live in WV. My first long distance assignment will be in Myrtle Beach! So excited! Right now we are renovating and learning about our new camper. My sweet husband will be my partner in crime and he is my best friend and we have talked about this for a few years now. So here we go! Wish us luck. Thanks for your videos as well they are helping us so much.

We found TILLGÅNG gray plastic trays for 99 cents each. They are 15"x11 " and make the ideal tray for eating while seated on the couch in our trailer. We even keep a couple in the SUV for times when we go through a drive-thru and need to eat in our car. We each have a tray to provide a flat eating surface and avoid spills. Plus they also provide a writing/desk surface.

We did exactly as was suggested in this video. We replaced the jackknife sofa that no adult over 5 foot tall could sleep on, with a tri-fold futon from IKEA. It makes into a fullsize bed that sleeps two that is much more comfortable than the old sofa as the sofa had a fold down armrest that was a wood box with no padding in the middle of the bed. It is the perfect length when unfolded and the slide is out as you can walk on both sides and the end, not blocking any movement in the camper.

It was completely cool to the touch and our cat simply adored sitting right up close to it for many hours a day. We moved the light about from time to time in the room and the cat followed it. Like you, I love Ikea for storage solutions for our RV. I appreciate your putting out this video, it was very helpful, but toward the end was it necessary to be critical of Ikea products, i.e. floor lamp, affordable children’s plushies and making fun of Swedish words?

For small space living I've recently found that Kmart can top Ikea especially at the price point (I did a lot of hmming and measuring at Ikea when I moved into my tiny studio flat, b4 coming to this conclusion). I found a narrow draw unit (and I mean about 15-20cm wide) that I squeezed into a spot near a door and now stores all my underwear, sox etc. I think it's worth mentioning here too, bcos drawers are cloth so it's pretty lightweight (does need to be strapped/attached to something sturdy). But I find Ikea have some surprisingly good stuff for travel!

@Susie What is the name of the tiny drawer unit?! I need it!!
@susie98933 жыл бұрын
@@Kitkatrey sorry hon, can't remember what it was called and I just had a look thru their current stock and it wasn't there. I remember I had trouble ordering it at the time - out of stock everywhere and when I asked about this was told that their products change all the time and I should keep an eye out cos it might be back in stock at any time, and lucky for me it did. But now it looks like it's gone. There's stuff obviously in the same line but the other unit that I bought which was a drawer and hanging unit combination is gone too. Maybe you could keep watching their stock? If that item was popular they might bring it back? (I should add that this is a 4 drawer unit but I ordered 2 and managed to stack 1 on top of the other and strapped the whole thing to some metal shelving I already had that didn't quite fill the space. This is why it's been so handy and the drawers are the perfect width - bras stack beautifully and it means I have a drawer for everything: sox drawer, stockings drawer, bra drawer, work bra drawer, bralette drawer, undies drawer etc 😊)

@@susie9893 sounds exactly like the type of organizing I like. If you ever figure out name, I’d love to have it. And yes, I have seen stuff cycle back through.

@@Kitkatrey it's probably just 4 drawer unit. The 1 with 3 drawers is called 3 drawer unit. Imaginative

Way too much use of plastics. Loved the induction heat cook top.

Induction Cooktops: how much wattage? if I use it off-grid i need to know if i can plug it in
@GratefulGlamper2 жыл бұрын
Wattage depends on the one burner or two. You can check it Ikea website for all the specs. As a side note we now have a fogatti two burner induction top. It’s power hungry but we have 4 battle born lithium batteries to power things when boondocking.
