I bought the Predator 3500 watt portable inverter generator (3kw) and with the third seat box completely removed from my Roadtrek it fits perfectly in that space with the wheels off. The seatbelt bolt in the floor locks the generator in place. I made a table top that wedges down onto the handles of the generator. It's so strong you could sit on it. It runs the coach 110v including the A/C. $640, it's very quiet and runs for about 10 hours on a full tank of gas (2.5 gal.)

ohh.. I guess I failed to mention in this video that I have a built in Onan 2800 generator. I got focused on the solar part and forgot to bring that up. lol
@seymourrivers61694 жыл бұрын
@@WanderDano My Roadtrek never had a generator. So this was my solution. Onboard generator costs thousands of dollars. Tradeoff is lifting it out of the Roadtrek for use, theft would be an issue if left unattended for a long time too.

Hello there! I just wanted to thank you for your channel. I just bought the exact same rig that you have. Same year with 53K. I have never owned a camper and am completely befuddled with everything and am looking forward to studying all of your videos for help. I'm sure I will be writing to you in the future for advice. Hope you don't mind.

Congrats!! I hope you are as happy with yours as I've been with mine. I am far from an expert but I'll be glad to answer any questions that I can. Finding one with 53K in 2020 is a darn good accomplishment!! All the best

You know how it goes,first we buy a "I don't need more" stuff,and slowly buy more and more,some day we gonna end up that cheaper thing and buy a good stuff, because end of the day a most important thing our comfort,including a good light and a lots of power ☮️🇺🇸🗽✌️🏖️🤣⛵

Interesting that you have a lot of the same solutions I have adopted for my rig. I have a Renogy 100 watt portable solar panel kit. Fixed solar panels on the roof make sense if you're mainly camping in the Southwest, where there's a lot of desert, but in the Eastern states, a portable panel makes more sense because you can park the rig under shade and site the panels in the sun. A couple open windows and run the roof vent fan, and I'm as cool as I need to be while I sleep. I have a Duracell jump starter, which also includes USB charging ports, a light, and an air compressor, so if I can plug the tire I can get at least enough air into it to get me out of trouble. I bought a cheap doormat from Walmart just to clean the soles of my shoes before stepping inside. I have the exact same model of dehumidifier. I use a stovetop coffee boiler, though. I have a selection of tools to take care of emergency repairs. I like the bag idea to organize clothing, my clothing lockers are a bit of a mess right now.
@WanderDano4 жыл бұрын
I like the idea of having some flexible stick on type panels on the roof to get what you can while driving and parked. I'd still pick shade to "camp" when possible and use a portable panel. If not for the pets I'd "camp" much differently because I'm a wanderer and most days they don't see a lot of me. lol Give the bag idea a try, I often get them for free from RV shows and the like but they are cheap to buy. Not sure I have all I'd like but they have saved my sanity. ;-) all the best

Is it true that I heard the Ohio state Parks are going to be opening back up after Memorial Day? With many "virus" rules in place when they do. If you fold your shirts in half sleeve to sleeve, then fold the sleeve over, then roll the shirt up, you can get more shirts into a more compact spot or bag.
@WanderDano4 жыл бұрын
Yes they are talking of opening them soon but with many "rules". I used to do my clothes the way you describe when I did a lot of backpacking - it does save space.
