Milie is such a sweet, sweet soul! They just don't make them like that anymore. What a courageous senior lady to get out on the road, solo no less, and enjoy life. I bet she would have a ton of life experience to share. I hope to get to visit with her one day. Milie, I am a popcorn lover too! At one point in the late 70's I practically lived on peanut butter sandwiches and popcorn...lol! That Toyota Warrior is in remarkably good condition to be 25 years old. You don't see many of these in that good of condition. Thanks for a great interview! Milie made my day! Truly enjoyed it. 👍🏼

if she could look into a small engine, motorcycle (dirtbike ) store, she may be able to get a silencer on the muffler , they may be able to tack weld one on ....it would queit it down a lot alos maybe a sound proof like what they do in trucks of cars with powerfull speaker set ups its a foil but works great ,., I am sure there would be a way to make it more bearable until she could afford a decent solar set up ...or hell sell the genny them Toyota are sought after , and use the space for solar batteries

Nice interview. Millie shows that there is not much to the RV thing, just a desire. I owned an '85 National RV Dolphin on the Toyota chassis. They called them micro-mini in the industry, not Class C. Mine weighed 5500 pounds and I set it up with GC batteries, two solar panels, and a RecAir evap cooler. It was the whole package and they weren't that expensive. There wasn't much insulation in them. I know someone who lives in one. It is what it is. The four cyclinder was good for 25 mph up the big hills, like the ones into Flagstaff. In the 80's people would still put up with the kind of performance, I guess, but no more. As I understand it, the rear dual setup was not very robust and they recalled all the units so Toyota could put in a floating axle. I got the paperwork for the recall, but I had sold my unit. I believe Toyota refused to supply trucks for this segment of the RV market, after the recall. National RV, which made a lot of micro-minis, Dolphin and Oddysey, went into the Class A market. They were in bankruptcy during the economic crash. I hope the micro-minis that are still around are serving people like Millie. A lot of people aren't going to build an RV, and it's become a luxury market. Great story. (I did some research on Washington. Seems like the $30 pass is good for admission, but primitive camping is $12. That seems to be the way the world is going, with much higher fees. Hope I'm wrong on this.)

Thank you for interviewing Milie Bob. Milie you have given me hope, I have been watching videos about full time RVing for months now and have gotten dismayed because it has been mind boggling for me to comprehend so many different issues and choices. When I saw this video Milie of you in your Toyota RV it helped simplify my own choice to go full time after I start collecting SS in a year or so and I sell my house. I have no idea how I am going to accomplish this financially but it is my dream to travel, see places and make new friends, it is a decision that saved my life and gave me hope that my life was not over. I pull a 16 ft Scamp with 97 Toyota Tacoma 4 X 4 2.7 liter 4 cylinder and get between 16 and 27 mpg (the 27 was downhill going east out of the Rockies). It's not overpowered but if you're patient and the wind isn't strong and head-on it moves along. The V6 is probably the better option though.
