Good job man. The 3 green wires from the generator are 3 phase AC which are converted to DC by the controller. It would be even more efficient if you extended these 3 wires for the long run and put the controller as near as possible to where it hooks into your DC system inside, rather than having the controller on the masthead with the long run of 2 wires. You would get less cable losses this way :)

Exactly, turbine to controller connection is 120 v (240 ?) and controller to the battery bank connection is 12 or 24 volts. If your set has 200 feet from the turbine to the battery bank and the controller is e.g. 2 feet from the turbine it means you run 12/24 volts on distance of 198 feet. You will need a THICK WIRE. But if you place your controller 2 feet from the battery bank, you can run pretty thin wire to handle 120v over 198 feet and 2 feet of not too thick wire to connect the controller to batteries.

The shaft that you put your steel pipe down. What is it's original job, since it is by your fridge? Is it the gas vent for your fridge? In putting a pipe down it, are you compromising the longevity of your fridge?

In my experience with wind vane self-steering sailboat units, I learned that a wedge shaped (v-shaped) tail fin is much more stable than a flat tail fin. The wedge prevents hunting while pointing directly into the wind because there is pressure on both sides of the wedge which keeps the wedge from wandering. Place a tab on one side of the wedge fin to if you want torque speed control. This reduced hunting will reduce gyroscopic precession stress on the bearings and on the blades. It should also increase the average power produced because of reduced hunting. What say you to that?

Extend the 3 green wires all the way inside the RV right next to the charge controller for best results. The red and black or positive and negative wires should remain short next to the charge controller. Otherwise, you'll have a loss of power. Remember, three long three-phase wires to the rectifier. Two short positive and negative wires from the rectifier to charge control.

The post holding the turbine needs to be level for it to track the wind properly. Could be the view angle that made it look ot of level but you will get better output if it can track the wind properly.

The noise is annoying. I'd compare the noise to that of a propane generator. It really doesn't compare to the silence of solar panels, but I cannot imagine how this can kill birds. It's pretty small. We never had a single incident of birds flying into it.

@@Green-placesOrg Thanks, again... The noise is definitely a non-starter...can go with that...I like my quiet... I put out bird feeders so generally, there are mucho birds around. thanks for the video , I'm planning to do something similar. if you want to improve , I suggest you modify that wind turbine and make it a 5 blade. You can buy 2 more extra blades and the black blades head on ebay for about 11-20$ each. It will improve dramatically in low wind conditions.
