I know this video is old, but honestly I could listen to you talk about locks for hours. Always interesting, entertaining and educational. Thanks for all you do, Schuyler!!

Out standing talk. So fascinating about the history and the so forgotten mechanics behind the mechanism which we all overlook.

22:29 the method of attack for the "forever lock" is a foil impressioning attack, since the lock mechanism is a dimple lock, DeviantOllam demonstrates this here kzbin.info/www/bejne/i3irm4ppj8d2ipo

I'm a bit late to the show but as far as I can tell, Protec 1 can be picked by inserting a thin wire between discs and between the two DBS bars and then going with tentative method. If I remember correctly, Protec 1 also allows going to DBS bars by inserting the wire through the keyhole and using the extra space in rear to access DBS bars. The idea is to prevent DBS bars from touching each other and locking the discs. See Matt Smith (huxleypig69) speech for more details: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fXPEmpuwi92ma7s

those forever locks can easily be broken open by getting a blank, grinding it to max depth, wrapping the blank in foil tape, BAM you have an impression
@error.4189 жыл бұрын
+legionbunny The foil impressioning attack for these is not at the "easy" scale since you do have to prepare a key, and the keyway is not entirely forgiving so jamming it in can be tricky, it's closer to a "medium" level. I usually reserve "easy" for locks where you can improvise in the field a method for attack.

***** that's your opinion of if it's easy or not.
@error.4189 жыл бұрын
legionbunny Obviously, but I did support my opinion with reasons
@whtwolf1009 жыл бұрын
***** well it's easy because it requires no real skills and can be done with easily available materials and tools. There,reasons. Shove off.
