We were just at Monte vista RV resort, in Mesa Awesome place. Overpriced $600+ lot rent. Otherwise we enjoyed our stay in the RV section.

Would have been nice to know the monthly rent at each of those places, and what amenities (shower, laundry, wi-fi, pool?) for comparison purposes. Never having been in that part of the country, this was quite interesting.

+Judith Neeley I did list the names of the parks in the description. By no means was I trying to provide a cohesive review of each park. We were looking for a nice park with slightly larger lot options. We may need to find a place where we can live for 6-12mo before we can travel. If we go long term somewhere, we would like to have a nice corner spot even if we have to muster the extra $$$ to do so :) thanks for the feedback though. If I do any future park reviews I'll definitely pull up the site and mention the amenities and prices!

I find these videos especially interesting since I'm a west coaster who has not been in the desert like that. It just seems so dry and parched. Of course space rents here are sky high. Happy trails!

Good luck finding a park for people under 55! You might want to look into buying an acre of land for your trailer in the Phoenix and surrounding areas!

@@RVExodus That's by design. They want to force families into overpriced apartments or terrible 30+ year mortgages that you will never off thus turning you into a debt slave. Kara is right. Just try to pick up some land, a toyota prius and a guard dog!. You can get a water tank pretty cheap and solar panels are improving very quickly. There are quite a few arizona youtubers that do homesteading channels. Also have you checked out destiny RV? They are one of the few all age resorts. www.destinyrvresort.com/home.html.

Go with the Motel RV park. Didn't look crowded and you would get to meet a lot of new people staying at the motel like hookers, drug uses, serial killers and two or three people on the FBIs 10 most wanted list I would assume.

Yes, very hot in the months, as you know very well ! Tent all sides to keep panels exposed, shade everything else, truck in water to run misters around the shaded perimeter for a play area??? Many folks here with patios use the drip irrigation misters for a bit of relief ! rc

We are moving this year, maybe Az or South Oregon. Do you have any ideal what the cost were at these places? We wont be living on much. We have a 26' 1 slide out, camper. Cant wait to start our journey. You have anything updated, beans this is 4 years ago. I'm sure there more filled up by now. Lots of people going this route. We wont be able to afford are property taxes, if they continue to go up. My husband is on Medicare and has ca, I cant work full time, I cant handle it. Rv park that's 55 + would be great for us. But would like to just do some boon docking.

Enjoyed the tour. Ever considered Wickenburg area? Take the Carefree highway (74) off the I-17. Or depending on where you're starting, I guess you could take the 60 or 303 straight up from west phoenix? Might be a shorter commute for you.

+Leroy Van dyke honestly didn’t consider wickenburg. I keep forgetting how close it is. Back in the 80s seemed like you had to drive an hour or more from where Phoenix metro area ended to wickenburg. How things have changed. Would prefer somewhere a little cooler though :)

I know the West has it's beauty, but being out in the hot sun all day isn't for me. Give me the east coast with it's mountains, trees, rivers and streams. Green as far as the eye can see all spring and summer long.

This is the crap part of the desert. Anything west/northwest of Phoenix is pretty bad. It's better than what you'll find on Mars but not by much. The best desert in Arizona is to the east. Around the Superstitions and Four Peaks. Plenty of trees. Mesquite and Palo Verde. Scrub oak. Birch along the creeks. Knock your socks off gorgeous. You'll see mule deer. Coyotes. Rabbits. Birds of all kinds. Owls and hawks and eagles. Even in the summer the temperature drops down at night. Gets a little nippy.

Keep the house and RV for fun and relaxation. The way you were going up North I thought you were going to end up in Springerville LOL nobody needs an hour-and-a-half commute everyday what's more that road is always jammed with accidents and everything else in the area you'd be commuting. I actually ended up retiring very early. Now we just meander :) we host some conventions in the winter which brings us back to AZ but otherwise the commute is from the rv to the rv now :) thanks for watching! Appreciate it.

It was interesting seeing what Arizona has to offer near Phoenix. I was raised in Blythe, 160 miles west of Phoenix and I love the desert but it's not so inviting when it's covered in RV's. I liked the Motel Park because fewer people. ...about the soft porn music...at least play more than one piece?

For a few dollars more you can stay at one of the so many 10-10-10 parks in AZ. My rig is a 32ft 3 slide fifth wheel, I will usually seek out the most amenities I can find in a park. I travel about 90 days a year and wife and I like the most activities and amenities I can find. AZ and the southwest in general has so many parks to choose from it's difficult.

RV Exodus the Good Sam Big Book which has and rates every park in the country rates the parks on a system of 1 to 10 in 3 different categories. There are other books but the Good Sam book is generally the cock of the walk. Some may argue my rating of Good Sam but I have been doing this RV thing for about 90 days a year for 20 years.

However, pioneer was the last one in the video and we thought it was a nice 55 park, just off i17 in the north valley. I’m 2yrs your senior so I will have to wait a little while unless your hubby can sneak us all in :)

We're in a Tucson RV park for the winter, this is our first time in a park for more than a week or so. We've found ourselves surrounded by snowbirds that are 20 or so years our senior. We're in our early 50's, retired, and we are the "kids" in this 200 space RV park. Luckily, this park is for those who are 40 years old or older, many require you to be 55 or older, neither allow kids. The snowbirds come back to this same RV park year after year after year, reserving their spot for next year before leaving.

Many of these "parks" are just graded desert. Just put up power, sewer, and water and call it a park. If you include a cement block laundry room it's a resort. It's sad, really.

However, I prefer the mountains while others would prefer the desert. Either way, neither of them are generally resorts in my book.

Back then I commuted 45 min from my house. Most of the traffic north of Phoenix M-F is caused by folks that live north of Phoenix like in anthem. Not sure what point you are trying to drive home here boss but either way I’m commuting right? Just from a different location. And I have every right to live wherever I want. I’m glad you enjoyed. Safe place to come home to? Where is that? We are currently in our RV on a farm and I feel a heck of a lot safer than I did in my cookie cutter house. We spend less money on gas and car repairs than we did when we drove to work 5 days a week. Just because we live in an RV doesn’t mean we burn through thousands of gallons of gas. The parks in the video you commented on are far from our choice of places to stay long term. We were simply driving around looking at options. One or two weren’t bad but not suitable for more than a couple of days. So sorry you didn’t enjoy the video. There are plenty of others to watch. Next time just hit the skip button and move on. That video has had more views than any of my other videos. I have had a lot of people comment and enjoy. So it’s not for you. I don’t need to be rude. But you made that choice anyhow. I would never follow your videos because of your blatant bias against older RV's. Do you have to have all shiny and new ones to feel good about yourself? Those older ones were not trashy and dirty they were just old. Some people purchase them new and intend on keeping them, rather than turning them in for shiny and new look all the time. That is what is wrong with this world. Everyone is so class conscious. I could understand if the park in itself was trashy but that was not the case. Wow .... ok. Well I’m sure I said something during that video that offended you. My intention is not to offend. However, these days it’s pretty impossible as we have become a pretty sensitive society. Everyone has a different perspective on what is old or run down, safe or unsafe, clean vs dirty, nice vs not so nice etc. My goal back then was to find a park near my office that I could feel comfortable leaving my family for the day. Also, a place where we would enjoy staying. So yah, if I pull into a park or area where everything looks a little older or settled in, I will question if it is safe. Funny though, I have owned several trailers and none were new. The fifth wheel we are in now is the first new trailer we have ever owned. All were older. I actually have no issue with older RVs. I will forgo judging you base on one comment the way you have judged me. I do not know you as you do not know me. But I do also hope we can all be better humans. I think that is an awesome goal for everyone. Take care.

Funny, I always associated camping/RVing with isolation but looking at these RV parks there's nothing isolationist about it. When everybody's trying to "get away" but they all head to the same place, there is no getting away. I realize there's safety in numbers but I think I would prefer to be out all alone on some BLM land.

Agreed. Although here in AZ, on Memorial Day and other 3 day weekends, half of Phoenix goes to the same 10 camping areas. That’s when I stay home and get caught up on shores. I honestly think most people don’t want to get away from other people. They just want a change of scene. Me on the other hand, I’m with you .... well as long as you are 100+ yard away! 😝

These kinds of RV parks just outside the city limits is mostly for people passing through and can stay for a night or a week or however long. but these places also need money to stay afloat so some of them"NOT ALL" let people stay year round as alternative living... these are NOT camping sites... as you can obviously tell...

Specially in Arizona, people have been living in their RVs for many years. If you want to be part of the prestige, you should stay in suburbia.

+Mikestime22 I prefer to not even stay in a park but do not think I can afford that long of an extension cord. You seem to be sensitive to people commenting on parks being small and having older RVs. I'm curious why? What we would like to avoid is having to hear neighbors yelling and tvs blasting through thin walls. This my not always be the case but do prefer a park with s slightly larger lot than what we experienced in the video. There are many rvers that make that same statement and prefer to boondock when possible. We share that perspective and make no judgement towards folks that enjoy or don't mind being crammed in. Btw ... this is part of the reason we want to leave suburbia and be able to enjoy the many open spaces our great country has to offer. Is there anything wrong with that boss? Seems like that is why the majority of RVers have trailers to begin with ... get get out and experience the country. I haven't heard too many people say ... I can't wait until I retire so I can by an RV and park it 10ft from someone else :)

What I didn't understand is why you continued to mention older RVs. I care when there are snooty people out there and there's a lot of them. I have owned older and newer RVs and get irritated by parks and people that discriminate towards them. It shouldn't matter if you have a newer or older model. You shouldn't care either, why is that one of your personal reasons why not to choose a park with older models as you mentioned many times on your video?

+Mikestime22 yah I follow you boss. I get it too. I like a lot of older RVs. There's definitely a difference between maintained older RVs and parks that lean a little bit more on the junkier side. I live in a very modest home in AZ even though I could afford much more I choose to not be house poor. I do however have to determine what I feel is safe and comfortable for my wife and daughter. That's the number 1 priority. I'd make the same statements if buying a house and felt the older homes were run down. That said, have a great day and enjoy. Thank you for the feedback.
