This lava is so different from the fast moving Pahoehoe lava I’ve seen in Hawai’i. It’s truly remarkable to see the difference so evident in these long shots of the flow. Thanks so much! Hawaii flows do the exact same thing. It just depends on the eruptions phase. The flow fronts are slabby pahoehoe. A'a is different.
@deralbtraum57173 жыл бұрын
Its the same, in this case in a smaller dimension. The fast moving cascade into the sea was floating through a cave so it had at this point still a high temperature. But I remember at where it flows slowly over streets, looked same as here.
@cproteus3 жыл бұрын
@@lavapix are you *very* sure about that? Since you’re here to correct me? It’s interesting. I made one comment, and I have you “correcting” me - and you are wrong, in fact. Interesting. Is it my name?
@cproteus3 жыл бұрын
@@deralbtraum5717 in the area of Puna which was reclaimed a few years back (where I had been) the lava was the Pahoehoe type of flow, and it didn’t have these pumice chunks. It spit off tonnes of Pele’s hair - And very little of the pumice I see here. The “waterfalls” of lava coming from Fagradalsfyall would be the pahoehoe type which took Kapoho, but, in general, the entire volcano (cindercone) is of a different type from the shield volcanoes on Hawai’i, and it’s really neat to see that difference in the flow.

Unfortunately, Mother Nature is most unpredictable and we really cannot know what this event could stir up amongst the fragile Icelandic geology. Stay safe and a big thank you for this footage. @krisushi13 жыл бұрын
@@pbanther3902 Its unfortunate that an occurrence like flooding isn't worth anyone's time apart from whom it affects. Watching a volcano is fascinating but we should never forget the trauma of literally watching a house floating away in a torrent of water on a couples wedding day, such is what occurred today. In NSW numerous towns and regions are being evacuated, cars and other debris are a common site just floating away. A dam that holds many times the capacity of Sydney harbour is over-spilling adding to the disaster. A mini-tornado tore through a suburban area literally tearing streets of homes to shreds. Whilst we can appreciate the beauty of watching the eruption in Iceland, it's doing no harm to anyone at this time. We should never turn our backs on nature's other disasters that seriously affect a country and endless lives who have lost everything. That's why the volcanic fissure in Iceland hasn't been mentioned on any major news service here at this time when the most populated State in the Country and Sydney itself is being extensively flooded and it's hardly over. I'm in Victoria but just below the NSW Border and we have had extensive rain since last night and just stopped not long ago after nearly 24hrs but apparently it's only a brief stop and set to continue for days. Now, we are being warned of flooding, especially flash floods which are quite common here. I've been trapped by one myself whilst camping. Thanks for your thoughts. Hope things pick up for you with the pandemic not being at all kind to the UK. Take care in that lovely area you live. I visited many years ago and it was beautiful.

@@krisushi1 my heartfelt condolences. I have been keeping up with the current flooding in Australia. All disasters and cataclysmic and otherwise notable events are equally important. Personally, I am watching world events as the scriptures instruct us, and events are increasing. Flooding, major flooding, has become rather commonplace. Major disasters have become a way of life these days. Everyone is affected one way or another. Seems like nearly every week some city or town is being swept away. Nobody is immune to major disasters these days. Signs in the heavens are increasing, also. Meteors, meteorites, fireballs keep happening around the world. People need to wake up and realize these are the last days. Many are saying that they realize this is the time of the end as prophesied in the Word of Almighty God. Yet there are many scoffers who refuse to see the many, many signs and that they are increasing and intensifying. I live in north central Texas. Jesus Christ is surely coming soon. Repent before it is too late.
