3 Years with KTM DUKE 390.. What I feel about Her...

Hi Vikas. I've had my Duke 390 for 4 years now and still in love with it despite it's few faults. The things I dislike (not hate) in addition to your 10 things video are: 1/ The stock mirrors. Great for viewing your own elbows but not much else. 2/ Under seat storage, or lack thereof. I have a KTM alarm system fitted. Great, but it takes up all the space so can't get the toolkit in there with it. 3/ The sidestand down sensor adjustment screw. Until I found the fix on forums, I was plagued by random engine cut-outs on braking. KTM thought it was fuelling or ECU map. Turns out heavy braking was just enough to slightly move sidestand away from magnetic sensor thus causing safety engine shut off. No longer a problem with a washer/spacer fitted. 4/ The default dash reading of average speed an journey time. I prefer to see fuel range, so have to change it on the move every time. Why can't it remember last selection? No other dislikes. And looks far more beautiful than the 2017 styling change.

Good one Vikas.. if you see your last video n this one..for someone who hasn't got any experience on 390 - may relate to it but anyone who has owned a 390, would be like seriously.. you really mean that. Even I have one for last 3 years..same lot as yours, done all kind of ride including A Leh (beyond) and return except track.. I couldn't relate to what you said.. now I have slightly bigger machine for last 4 + months.. the bigger ones have their advantages.. but at the same time..I started to like and appreciate Duke even more. cheers Man..

I have a duke 390 and it's a wonderful bike, perfect for all round use. But isn't comfortable at low speeds, you have to accelerate a little fast, because if you want to go slow on first gears, you need to use clutch to avoid jerks. But i think, major problem is motor temperature, overheating is solved, but heat degrades motor fast, so i think duke 390 no longer keeps more than 50k kms without rebuild motor.

Uk fan here great video as usual. I notice that you sometimes use an aftermarket exhaust? Do you remap for the different exhausts or just use them without? And how many miles have you done in total/ with stock exhaust/ with aftermarket exhaust? Hi Vikas! I have a Duke 390 bs4... and I bought it last year but its a 2017 model... just wanted to know wat is the millage u get on ur duke 390 and wat someone should expect??? On a full tank i.e. 13.4 Liters and it gives me 280-300km if i am soft on throttle and 220km if i am red lining it... now its only 2000 km done now and only one service done on 700km.... so the average goes around 18-20kmph!!!🥶 is there something wrong with my duke??? Or is that something to do with engine breaking??? Also I have been hard on rev since the day one and been red lining it all the time... people say i am getting less millage because i didn’t ride it slow in the initial stage before 1st Service... is it true???

yes its true bro you shouldn't red line it until you complete you're first service its highly recommended to maintain below 7k rpm each gear shift also use youre quick shifter at higher rpms not at lower rpms

Vikas Anna I just want to confess one thing that KTM makes cheap engine with high performance.... One of my friend change everything in the engine of KTM in just 35000 km..... That is why Yamaha is Yamaha Suzuki is Suzuki Honda is Honda Mahindra is Mahindra and hero is hero

Vikas the only bad thing about ur comparison with Dominar was that u kind of downplayed the advantages of Duke 390. maybe u were too exited abt Dominar. just see the video urself. u clearly downplayed stuff like USD, Metzlers, better frame, better swing arm etc

Sulav r. Parajuli duke 390 is 10 mm shorter than duke 200 but it doesn't really matter ， you can ride a 1000 cc bike if you skills to control .

I own a as 200, it cruise comfortably at 100, I test drove dominor for 10kms and it effortlessly reached 130 in evening traffic. So I assume driving at 140 would be no problem. It's a great touring bike with good comfort and excellent headlights
