In 1075 we bought a 25 Ft. used Itasca Class C. Years later went to a 33 ft. Class A. Then a 31 ft. Class C again. When my husband passed away suddenly, I sold the Class C. Missed having one so a few years later I bought another Class C. 25 ft.... Perfect for me, a 78 yr. old widow who agrees 100% with you about this size. I call it my "motel" on wheels. Traveling with my dog is just a great way to live my life today. Not full time, but can just pick up and go.

I had a Lance 825 truck camper and my wife and I and our dog did a 22,000 mile road trip and went all across America, Canada and Alaska I loved it because everywhere the truck could go my house could go. It was a fantastic trip. We did another road trip in a 35 foot travel trailer ( should have gone smaller) another 22000 miles but it wasn’t the same. The truck camper was the best! I want to do it again.

OH, WHERE DO I BEGIN?! We love our Lucy (2016, Winnebago Navion, Mercedes diesel) for MANY reasons. One, it is just the right size…I can drive it with ease and not panic; it almost PARKS itself!; with the diesel, we get between 13 and 16 mpg; MERCEDES! I also just LOVE that I don’t have to go outside to use the potty room. I love the fact we can get our daughter and her family inside in in-climate weather, to comfortably have dinner, as there is a TON of room with our full wall side out. Plus, we have a ton of inside storage, which is a necessity for me. We recently had more solar installed, so going off-grid for a while won’t be so worrisome. AND, FINALLY, OUR LUCY IS JUST A GORGEOUS CLASS C! John, Mercedes, I am so happy you did choose a class C, as I knew it would be the perfect fit for you…especially since you’ve “settled-down” and are not traveling full time! You’re able to practically pick-up-and-go with Class C rigs…again, so happy you made the right choice and that you are truly happy with your decision. Much ❤️Love, Virginia

Great video, Mercedes and John! 7 years ago, we started out with a 5th wheel that, on paper seemed great. In actual use, not so much, plus, the build quality was awful. Within the first year we traded it for a 37' Class A diesel pusher (single rear axle). We owned that rig for a couple years before deciding the build quality wasn't good and driving on the interstate was a white-knuckle affair - cross winds and passing truck traffic made it a nightmare. 3rd and last, we traded the Class A on another Class A diesel pusher, a 4369 Newmar Dutch Star with a tag axle. This coach has been a game changer for us. Love having a bath and a half with plenty of storage room, weight carrying and towing capacity (we tow a Jeep Wrangler). The build quality is much better than previous RVs. Yes, it is large (43'9"), but with experience you can get used to handling it. Every type of RV has its pluses and minuses, you just need to figure out what works best for your family. Unfortunately, most times that takes some trial and error.

You two have seen my/our sweet spot! 1) We started in a 20 y/o 24’ Class C with 3 kids… it was tight. When #4 arrived there was no way to stay with that C, not to forget all the engine problems we had with it! (I sold it to a mechanic neighbor who came over and ASKED to buy it! And yes, I was right up front on the issues we had.) 2) So after much research we bought a V10 F350 12 passenger VAN and a 36’ TT. It had a 4 bed bunkroom, no slides but it was perfect in the lay out. We had great adventures with the kids in that TT. 3) But with kids growing up and out we downsized to a used 26’ TT., a Tracer. We got one weekend in it, loaned it for our daughter & s-I-love to stay in while looking to buy a house (going from active Army to reserves and moving back home to TN) Well a week before they moved into their new house… a HUGE TREE landed on the TT, …however it held up against the tree . Insurance still totaled it. 4) We went back to 3 Way Campers in GA, and bought another 26’ TRACER TT! It was a tough TT so we wanted the same brand! I’m a night owl, John isn’t… so our biggest sweet spot is the bedroom has a DOOR😂. He can sleep and I can watch movies etc without disturbing him. See you two soon! (((Hugs)))

We have a 20ft Grand Design Imagine AIM 16ml. It is perfect for us. It is just the 2 of us when we camp. We have 2 grown kids, but they don't like camping. We like small campers because they are easy to get around in. If we had a big camper, we would not go camping as much. We are like John, we love to have it always packed so we can just head out last minute. I have it set up for boon docking. We can go 6 days off grid without running out of power or using a generator. It is our favorite way of camping because you miss all the people. Most people want hookups. We love the beautiful secluded places.

We started with a 29ft travel trailer, then upgraded to a 35ft 5th wheel when we full time RVed. After putting down roots again, we tried a camper van and that was way too small. We've been looking at Class C's under 25ft ft for many of the reasons you like yours. We will only part time RV, so I think a floor plan like yours will be good for us. :)

We tow a 35' Brinkley Z3100 and love it. It's our second fifth wheel. What we like is being able to unhook and have the truck to see the sights. I've been towing trailers for many years and very comfortable with it. If I had a Class C we'd have to tow a car anyway. But I totally agree with your motivations and think when we get older, we may switch to a Class C.

spent 3 years looking for a "smaller" rv after our 40' winnebago pusher. finally realized that we wanted #1. 3 doors which meant a class C. #2. large water and waste tanks so we wouldn't have to fill and dump every day. #3, large storage bins. we tried to love smaller ones but finally chose a 39' Jayco Seneca Super C (light on the super) on the freightliner chassis. yes its big and we usually pull an 18' trailer with toys. But. other than the gravel truck ride, we love it. It's perfect for us at this time. We travel about 6 to 10 weeks a year, all over the country. smaller would be nice at times but this works for now. full residential fridge and 2 bathrooms (Which we didn't want but now we like). . about 10 mpg when not towing and 8.5 to 9.5 towing.

Putting less than 50,000 into it to make it work for us is WAY better than 500,000-700,000 buying a new one that is built with everything i and J would need … it’ll take a while but i think once i have everything renovated it should work without a hitch!

Since we are now living in a lake community, we are on the hunt for a trailer under 26' that will comfortably accommodate us and our 2, mid-sized dogs. I think my Thor Majestic 23A is about the perfect size for me . Since my wife passed it's only me and a Chihuahua , so my Class C does not have or need slides . Have a dinette , a jump seat that will eventually become a small reloading center , kitchen with rangetop , fridge ,microwave that also bakes and air frys , bathroom and full size bed . The large overcab area is great for storage , tv mounted on an articulating arm , what more do you need? My only problem is the bed in the corner is a real pain to make up . Easy to drive , big cargo bay , my son helped me fabricate a powered lift for my motorcycle carrier for my little bike . Don't know what yours is like but I put big shocks with coilover springs and helper air bags on the rear which made a huge difference in ride for little money . Have original house battery and genny , also added 200 AH lithium with a 2000 watt inverter wired to an extra 30 amp receptacle in the electric bay to plug in to , a DC to DC charger and four 100 watt portable solar panels . Also the extend a stay propane valve and carry two 20 pound cylinders in the cargo bay . While not considering myself a "prepper" I am good off grid for a while other than water , and if the excrement encounters the cooling system I would have instant shelter off in the woods . Not ashamed to say that Jesus and Mary and St. Cristopher all have their places in here to watch after me .
