Rwanda’s long arm

You can’t betray your country and get away with it. Whoever you might be. Including those still alive. They will suffer the consequences,’ said Paul Kagame, the president of Rwanda in a speech in January 2014.
The president is quite clear about it. His opponents must be on their guard. Wherever they are in the world. The long arm of dictator Kagame will track them down, monitor and threaten them. It is known that secret agents of the regime in Rwanda operate in Sweden, Belgium and England, among other places.
Human rights activists suspect that they are also active in the Netherlands. Kagame's intelligence agency is said to conduct clandestine operations here, spying on and intimidating the Rwandan community.
In Europe there would even be death squads. Is it paranoia, or does Rwanda’s long arm really reach as far as the Netherlands? What does the Dutch government know about this? And does the Dutch government protect the Rwandan refugees or is The Hague actually cooperating with the Rwandan regime? Zembla investigates the boundless power of a dictatorship.

This documentary is biased and one sided. Peter Verlinden was interviewed but was never asked where all his hatred for Rwanda comes from. His wife Marie Bamutese, who's real name is Marina Bamurebe is from Bugesera, on the Rwanda and Burundi border. She claims her parents (all whom were Hutu extremists) were killed by the RPF. But through testimonies of her old neighbor, her father was epileptic. He died while they were fleeing to Congo (ex Zaire). Her mother died of illness a couple years later while in a refugee camp.

Progress and development or political football. It is interesting looking at Liberia and Rwanda, both victims of bloody civil wars and regional chaos. Yet today Liberia is experiencing it's fourth election since the war and it's third transfer of power where as Rwanda has had one leader since it's civil strife conclusion. Today, Liberia is an economic basket case teeming with corruption and can be argued to be going backwards rather than forward, where as Rwanda is heralded for all the world to see how development can be achieve in Africa. The moral of the story is too much babble and remain stagnant or forget the idea of western democracy, find a leader with vision and the strength of character and watch your people and country develop. One size does not fit all.

Why don't you expose the true motivation of the opposition.. ..the biggest problem for Rwanda is those who still holding on the ideology of division, and denie of the genocide of the tutsi, refusing to participate in the reconstruction of a new country without segregation, a journey that is everyone effort This video is clearly more a propaganda against a government Who has done has to deal with a traumatized nation. Who ever want to talk, consider always the other side. You are busy forgetting those who was killed because of who they where, the survived of the victimes and the perpetrators. Give space and time to the new generation to never go back to the demonic ideology of racism and genocide. The guilty will face God one day. But repentance can give them peace today.

If these people threaten each other, how can this be on the account of the government of Rwanda? These people haven't followed reconciliation efforts that happened in Rwanda.

His first was from 1996 to 1999 and he then stayed in office continuously from 2009 to 2021, adding up to just over 15 years in total. David Ben-Gurion, the founder and first prime minister of Israel, comes second for time in office at 13 years and 127 days. Yitzhak Shamir was Israel's third-longest serving prime minister at 6 years and 242 days. I love Kagame my president & my country Rwanda....We have seen the light, these so called "opponents" are mostly genocidaires who are nostalgic for Hutu power & horryfying dominance which caused alot of boodshed of innocent tutsi people, Long Live Kagame❤

Compare Rwanda in time and geography with the country as it was in 1994 and before, and with what it is today. Rwanda has done amazingly well. Thank you very much, H. E.

@@kingmoreorless2810 it's doing so well according to who? In terms of infrastructure yes. But the rest no. People are very poor and struggling. A teacher does not earn even enough to live, he has to do side jobs to survive.

@Sp7033 It takes time for a country to develop. For where it has come from in 1994 until now it is doing remarkable. It is one of the fasting growing economies in the world. Also it was voted the 6th safest country in the world for solo travellers. These are facts not uneducated opinions.
