There was one French general that warned the French government about the genocide. When the Hutu government asked the general for weapons. It was on a France 24 documentary about the genocide.

The animosity between Tutsis and Hutus existed long before the French. The French and the Belgium made it easier with their policies of favoring Tutsis over Hutus.

@Andrey Panin I m a Rwandan lady I would like to tell you that this movie is full of controversies mixed with political games, and someone like you who want to know more about this genocide I advise you to watch a documentary movie named: "Kill them all". Realized by French men Pierre Mezerrette and Raphael Glucksman. You will be more informed. History of our country is sensitive that I advise someone who want to know it to be carefull.

Jayson Emile, I suggest u read the book; “SOS - Rwanda’s 30-Year Apocalypse”. By Christine Coleman. She was also a survivor of the Genocide and tells the true and full story... which is still happening. The powers that be now, are evil and have hoodwinked the whole world. The president (Kagame) is a dictator ruling by fear, killing and allows no freedom of speech to persecute and subdue its citizens, so the world won’t know the truth.

I remember when this happened and nobody gave a damn. It was just a 20-second segment on the news. I could not forgive such horrible atrocities committed against humanity. I read this years ago. This happened when I was I. Elemantry school so I had no idea what was happen outside my world of cartons at the time. To read her story and know that it happened in a time where things like this could have been stopped by the so called peace keepers (UN) and that they left and never really looked back was disheartening. I read her story and I’m amazed hat how loving her heart is and how strong her mind was and still is. Not to say she didn’t have things to deal with after all this, but that she didn’t let the evil of this world break her is amazing.

This was an horrific thing these people had to endure and it shows what's priority to certain governments and what is not. These people could have been saved if money wasn't on the mind of the governmentS. As you read the books and watch the movies "Hotel Rwanda" and "Sometimes in April" you will constantly ask yourself, "What was I doing in 1994"?

A war like this shows worse and best sides of humanity. The Hutu neighbour who was hiding those people with the risk of his own life is a true hero.

Kagame may be an imperfect instrument but if it wasn't for his leadership many more people would have died in the genocide and he truly has been a positive bridge in starting to heal the country of Rwanda- and he didn't down the plane the Hutu extremists downed it and used it as a cover to start the genocide since their hatred prevented them from ever working with the Tutsi's. Immaculee is truly a heroic person which the foundation of is her Catholic faith. Check it out- in her books.

Everyone who commented in a hateful way: You watched this video so you saw Immaculee say how important forgiveness is. She let go of her anger and turned to love and forgiveness and she's a better person for it. The whole world would be a better place if we all offered forgiveness.

Can people stop treating black people like kids?! Yes, Belgium & France interfered, but these people who massacred others are to blame. Should a child rapist be let go from punishment because they to was a victim of child abuse? NO!.... God bless this woman; a pure soul.

I have respect for people who respect me. I posted a comment here not referring to anyone or replying to anyone. If this person is going to come here and try to act out, I am not going to take it. To start off, my comment was not offensive and this person who is uneducated comes and says stupid things I cannot just let that go! I am over it now and I do not care any more, but I had to respond. Thanks for your advice for I care a lot about the Unification of Africa as Nkrumah and Lumumba. Peace!

If people would really love each other as Jesus told us, there'd be no war. This war was ironically more about Catholicism and their questions for power.
