I'm Rwandan and can't speak Kinyarwanda. My dad speaks in fluently. My mom can speak it, but not as good considering she lived in Congo at first. Now I went to Rwanda 2 years ago and of course every aunt and uncle told us that we have to learn the language and such. We weren't able to learn the language because my dad works in Paris and we live in Brussels and my mom doesn't speak the language well enough to teach it to us. Of course my dad also tells us to learn the language, but it's kinda his job to teach us. So I guess I'll have to learn the language elsewhere.

I once spoke to my grandfather and he told me that some rwandese people live and were born in Kongo so they see themselfs as congolese also the rwandese territory was once larger but when it got smaller the rwandese territory became Kongolese so they are Kongolese people speaking kinyarwanda as an Kongolese Dialect basically

Some people it's not that they don't wanna speak the language but they really don't know it or not knowing it well because they grow up speaking only english at home and not because they planned it that way but because parents when they met they didn't understand each other's language and they raised their kids in that environment. I'm one of them, I don't know my Mom and my Dad's mother tongues. It's only now that my Mom was able to learn my Dad's language that I am also learning.

@@JesusChrist-sq5qq Well not everyone but most of the people and even if they wouldn't I would seemthat their mistake, it s just that they haven't had that much exposure to it from school, work or home, their language proficiency is just a sum up of what they have lived and actually gotten from their surrounding. Put a kinyarwanda exam as an entrance one for a job see how people actually try and master it. Long story short, these girls were mostly wrong on that point.

Firstly we have spoken kinyarwanda in some of our videos and secondly you clearly did not watch the video as we said that some people in rwanda try to act as if they cannot speak kinyarwanda when in fact they can - the example that was given was of a girl who claims to only speak 'french' yet her parents do not know any french and only communicate to her in kinyarrwanda so in saying that she way lying to us and did not want to speak her language - why would someone do that if they are not ashamed?

When was the last time you actually visited Rwanda? Rwanda has given value to english and french my cousin went to school in rwanda where she was taught predominately in french and now they have switched the languages and most schools are now teaching in English - Secondly we have just come back from Rwanda and trust me darling a lot of people use french and english they do not just use kinyarwanda so next time get your facts straight before commenting - have a blessed day.
