Weiss's reaction upon seeing everything burning and broken was so heartbreaking, first Beacon, then Atlas and Mantle, now this place in the Ever After. The Jaune reveal was also very touching, the fandom figured already that he'd be the Rusted Knight, but seeing how old he is now shocked even those who expected to see it! The next episodes are gonna be epic!

I can't wait to see Jaune really get to go off in a fight now. While he has been bridging the gap in recent Volumes, Jaune was always held back by his lack of experience compared to the other kids. Now, he's actually the most experienced out of them.

Ascension is for them a kind of reincarnation, and it's implied that the blacksmith is the one who makes their new forms, since the wing it was working on was the same as the one that the herbalist had

@@bradstrife2211 and how do we know she wrote the book? Ever heard of pen names or ghostwriters? Maybe Lewis wrote the book, which is why it did not match actual events, he made his sister look better. Maybe both made it back, no one knows what happened.

So as a heads up, the Curious cat says there is one way Afterens don't ascend. And that is them getting eaten by the Jabberwocker. So the bird guy is potentially 100% dead with no chance of coming back.

Ruby's journey is about Moving Forward but what's happens when you so broken that you can't move forward anymore. Ruby's mindset is the issue. She always looks at things positively, and picks people up but what about her? Can she always live like that?

We didn't get to see what happened to the Jabberwalker, but its fear of Neo and then Neo using illusion/constructs of it make me think it may have ascended by now.

I want to leave a comment here in hopes you all perhaps see it before your final recording batch. I have a suggestion, take it or leave it of course, but if there was one, single track from the entirety of RWBY's soundtracks that would be worth listening to before proceeding with Volume 9, it would be "Red Like Roses pt. 2" The experience of watching the rest of Volume 9 without the context of its lyrics has its own potential value as well, but I figured if there were going to be any specific time it would be worth doing, it would be now, as they provide very solid and valuable context on Ruby as a character and what has driven her since even before the start of Volume 1; that context will definitely change how the rest of the Volume is perceived.

No explanation for the Blacksmith yet but a good theory is that the Carpenter ascended and this is their new purpose, because a fight’s coming. The best assumption about the brooch is that Summer gave it to Ruby before she left for the last time, with the promise that she was coming back.

Yeah so the Curious Cat was explaining to team RWBY about what happened to Herb. Each and every Afteran (ppl in the Ever After) has a role/purpose in the ever after. Each of the various Acres are designed specifically for those Afterans that live there. When an Afteran fulfils their purpose or dies they ascend and are returned to the ever after via the tree. Every Afteran goes through ascension at some point and they will either gain a new purpose, or receive the same role as before. Herb was a herbalist, that is who he was/is. But he lost his way, so the CC gave some of his heart to Herb so that he can ascend and be reborn into Herb the herbalist again who hasn’t lost his way. Nothing truly dies in the Ever After, that is unless they are eaten by the Jabberwalker. Being eaten by the JW is the only way that any Afteran can truly, definitively die and never come back.

I think you guys missed it, but just to make sure you guys know, the creatures of Ever After don't die but instead "ascend", but the one exception is if they are eaten by the Jabberwalker. If it eats someone, then the creature that is eaten is seemingly consumed completely and no longer exist. That's why the Jabberwalker attack is so tragic for the creatures of the Ever After, and why its so fucked that the bird guy got munched on because now he is 100% dead.

Fun Facts Fact 1: The episode title refers to the Growgurt Parfait. Fact 2: When Team RWBY walk through the bazaar, they pass by a Rooster that is shown with Teeth in it's mouth. This is a reference to Rooster Teeth Productions, the company that created the series. Fact 3: During RWBY Roundtable episode 5, it was hinted that the emblem Ruby gave up in the episode would play a role later on in the volume. Fact 4: It is possible more than one of the emblem buckles exist: in "Ace Operatives", upon opening a case containing her new battle gear, another emblem was packed inside.

When they were on the lake riding the pad to the Market the cat said there IS a way that afterans can die but only by certain creature and that "Its not something you talk about in polite company." Then once they were at the market and the Jabberwalkers started attacking the Cat said if a Jabberwalker eats an Afteran they don't ascend. Edit: Marketa said as such at the end.

Oh hi, if you're interested the watch order is the Red White Black Yellow trailers, the currently 8 Volume webseries and then this crossover. I would recommend the manga and spinoff show RWBY Ice Queendom as well.

@@slenderfoxx3797 I worded it weirdly, you can start with the Red White Black Yellow trailers (which are significant with a lot of foreshadowing), then the webseries (on Volume 9 currently) or the manga. There is a spinoff show with a different timeline but don't start it until you are familiar with the lore. I hope this is clearer! 😄 Yeah, I still can't believe how far they've come with just a few guys and their laptops since 2012. So many fans and creators are inspired by RWBY, definitely the best indie show.

Ok I'm getting dead tired of this trope in far too many modern shows where people don't just talk to each other, Season 1 maybe even 2 I'll accept it but after that they should know the lesson that was already learned over and over again and just flap your word hole at your team so many problems could be avoided. Trust me, I wonder into another dimension where there is only a creepy blacksmith I'm talking to eeeeveryone in this whacky shack of a world about it at minimum to make sure I'm not becoming the Nutty Buddy.
