I probably said this elsewhere but I think they did a really good job being consistent about what Neo knows about each person during that fight. Pyrrha and Penny: She's seen them fight a lot and has spent time around them since she was pretending to be a student back in V3. They get the most dialogue and their fighting is the most accurate. However, Pyrrha never uses her semblance because Neo's never seen it. Pyrrha only ever used it subtly; the only time she didn't hide during a fight, Neo wasn't there. Lionheart: She never met him but because he's a headmaster basic info like his weapon would be public information. So we never hear him say anything in particular. Clover: Same as Lionheart except we don't even see him fight because Neo's never seen him fight. We never even see his weapon. Ironwood: She knows enough about what happened at Atlas to use it against Ruby but she's never seen him use his gun so all he does with it is shoot at her while she's in the air. He doesn't use gravity ammo like he did in real life against Watts. Ozpin: This is my favorite. Neo's never seen him fight but she knows Ozpin uses a cane, so Neo has him fight the same way Torchwick fights. Beating Ruby with the cane is the last thing he does in that fight before getting eaten.

Although I am not opposed to the idea that Neo's enhanced semblance just allowed her to amplify what Ruby was thinking already which is a sense of guilt over these deaths, whether they were in anyway related to her or not. So what we are seeing is basically Ruby's mindset made manifest by Neo's enhanced Semblance

The deal with Neo is that with Roman’s death all she wanted was revenge against Ruby. Now that she has what she wanted she basically just shut down having lost all purpose in her life. The cat, seeking to possess someone whose heart was broken beyond repair, decided that with Ruby gone, Neo was the next best thing.

I can't believe Robby Daymond wasn't actually our friend! Jokes aside, I guess this conbrms the Ever After is a predecessor to Remnant rather than a successor based on Curious Cat's comment. The body doubles faces mirroring Neos facial expressions and acting as her mouth was so well done. When Ruby was handed the tea, she was surrounded by illusions of everyone, including her teammates and Jaune. The next time she looks up is them actually looking at her, but she has no idea they aren’t illusions. For all we know she was just drinking it without them to stop her. Completely alone. She probably thought they were illusions, but she still wanted the last thing she saw to be her friends. Damn, what a brilliant allusion to the Mad Hatter's tea party.

There's some imagery here lifted straight out of the Roman Holiday novel, which fills out Neo and Roman's backstory. I won't tell all the details here but it's interesting to note that the "Neo" in the family portrait has two brown eyes. Her parents instructed the painter to ignore her heterochromia, it made her look weird. Also, Neo doesn't know for certain that Penny died in Atlas, she'd already fallen into the Ever After. She's just playing on the fact that Ruby doesn't know either, and is in a headspace where she'll just believe the worst.

If you score your revenge in the same battle in which your enemy did his/her dastardly deed, you probably feel a sense of "job well done" or "mission complete." But if your revenge takes Months...or YEARS, and requires considerable work or convoluted planning, you may find yourself looking back and thinking "was all this effort _really_ worth it??" The most classical example of this is the famous novel, _The Count of Monte Cristo._

My favourite part of this season has been Jaune, Neo, and mainly Ruby so I prefer the episodes focused on them (although I wouldn't necessarily say it's my favourite episode of the show because it has some great ones, the Apathy and a couple others are definitely up there as well)

The writing when it comes to characters is horrible especially with Yang and Blake.

@@Axel_Kasai I don't know if that's bad writing, Yang is a fighter, she even fought through her own ptsd, and people tend to think that if they can do something everyone else should be able to do it too, because their perspective is the only thing they have to go on. so her reacting like Ruby should have been able to handle it, and was being dismissive..is right no the money for her character, IMO
