In my opinion, this is very well done. Where most AMVs just take the original music and paste in their favorite scenes from whatever show they're using, you actually took the beat and pacing of the song into account. The only thing I can think of that would make this video significantly better (without corporate backing anyway) would be to remake it using some of the cooler action scenes from volume 2. That might be a bit much though.

I think it's a combination of the huge fanbase of Monty Oum (and as en extension Dead Fantasy) combined with Red Vs Blue fans as well as Roosterteeth diehards gave it the recognition it needed. That's a huge combination of people and the fight scenes *kept* the peoples attention. And ahh yeah, also the controversy over if it's an anime. That catches a lot of irritating attention as well.

Seems like while making this you thought an AMV is all about the fighting scenes. While the fighting scenes are bad ass, I'd recommend not focusing so heavily on the fighting scenes. There are multiple ways to create a good one such as, one where the song and the images tell a hidden story or matching the scenes with the music. I know you said you didn't have a lot of time I just thought I'd leave my input. Constructive criticism is never a bad thing and it can help build up an amazing creation. I'll subscribe to see what you create next.

It's actually not classed as anime. It's in the style of anime but it's originally from America not Japan so therefore it can only be classed as American animation.

Gonna have to correct you there I'm afraid Sarah. At the RTX convention this year for the volume 2 premiere of RWBY, Monty Oum the creator announced it's being picked up for an official Japanese dub and has been classified by them as an anime.

Classification of being an anime doesn't pertain exclusively Japanese animated shows anymore. Its a common misconception but if you look it up you realize that japan just makes more anime then anyone else, hence we think of Japanese culture when someone says "anime".
