Rwby but it’s Penny Polendina being wholesome

A lot of people seemed to like my Weiss video, so here’s a Penny one. I started to like Penny a lot more during Volume 7, quickly became my second favorite character and I really liked her story. She reminds me a lot of Zane from Ninjago, another wholesome robot who was built to protect (reason why that meme is at the end). I wanted to include scenes from Chibi and IQ, but I rather keep it to the main show. Well that’s all for now.

Tbh, I feel like it did some good for her character in some ways. She died so soon after so little screen time that she didn’t get to develop at all other than obviously being adorable and surprisingly badass. Bringing her back in volume 7 really allowed her character to show an obviously ironic sense of humanity, particularly when it came to winter. Winter was a human who acted like a machine, which was the opposite of penny. Still, penny valued her friendship with her and allowed her to start seeing the light and really understanding how toxic ironwood had become. I feel like the second death (as sad as it was) even showed further depth by showing her how she cared for winter and felt she deserved the power. It even helped with winter’s character in a lot of ways too imo.

Penny is the reason why I'm digging so deep into the whole idea of the soul in Rwby. Souls manifest as Aura to protect the body of the person the soul belongs to. Amazingly enough, souls/aura can actually be split off through an unknown process to create truly living machines like Penny. Implying that in the Rwby universe, one's "being" is their soul/aura, while the body itself is less relevant (but still required) to shape a person. (Penny being completely mechanical) However, if for example a soul is split, it will also not retain its original personality but become something completely different (like Penny and her father) Meaning a Soul develops a personality and sense of self based on the vessel/body they are in. Then we have the fact that we don't know where souls come from or go to after death. It could be that they just vanish after death, but then where would they come from at birth? something does not appear out of nothing. Tying in with volume 9 (spoiler alert) It is quite possible that souls from Remnant return to the hereafter's tree to be recycled as well. Or more likely, due to being split off from the hereafter, souls remain (invisible) within remnant, seeking out new life to bond with. Whoever they were previously is wiped clean (as sense of self and memory is tied to the body, not soul) But souls themselves get constantly passed on (and likely more then that, perhaps semblances have some connection to it as well?) The real question is, does this also imply that Grimm, just like the Jabberwalker can permanently take souls out of the recycle process?

I can simplify it for you: Pietro used a fraction of his soul to activate Penny's core, but the soul that inhabited Penny's body as well as the aura that protected her was her own; similar to when Pyrrha used her aura to activate Jaune's

Though made of machines and to be a weapon, one of the few characters I think have more humanity than anyone besides a few. I mean she acts and thinks like a person but also told what to do by others, however also having her own thoughts on the matter. Honestly if I had to describe her in a word, it would be Pure. Pure of heart, personality, and perspective. She didn’t view this as just two sides, she looked about the world full of color and wonder. It’s that she passed but she will also be a true maiden of the four seasons, a guardian to the people, and machine with a soul. I feel that she is a lesson, what do the rest of think about Penny?
