Hey folks, I figured out what went wrong with the resolution for chapters 12 and13. Apparently all of my defaults got reset with the last update to our editing software. I have re-rendered the last two episodes and will release them after the final chapter airs this coming week. Thanks for your understanding.

I have an explanation which is also Murder of Birds explanation of this. 1. Ruby asked for Abrosious to make a new penny take the robotic and the virus with her so the one we saw die is the creation that's why she disappears The one who we see now is what became of penny's soul and some creativity from Abrosious 2. He knew that's what team RWBY wanted but team RWBY was smart and asked for something else that would lead to what they wanted Also the genie asks "what would be left" and they don't know either so they kinda took a leap of faith with that 🌞

Curious. Now that Penny has been re-made by Ambrosius, what happens to her now if the staff is used for something else. Though technically they did use it again to create the portals. Buuuut, Atlas started falling as soon as they started working on Penny. uhg, brain fry. So did they somehow finagle a freeby out of Ambrosius? Be creative without creating?? The part about the genie saying "what would be left" sounds like he didn't know either. Sounded like a free pass to make it happen. So you can ask the genie to do anything you want as long as it isn't to create something?? But I thought all he does is create. I think I will need a couple more re-watches to understand this.

@@DocMicrowave They used a loophole in the rule. The new Penny was the robot that self-terminated and was later erased after the portals were made. They specifically said to make a new Penny using ONLY her robotic parts. That meant the soul of Penny would be left in free fall, meaning Ambros had to put her in something aka a human shell. When he asked them "what would be left" was more of a challenge on their certainty of what they were asking for than an actual question. Ruby's response was a snarky remark with the undertone of knowing he was trying to make them doubt their decision. They forced his hand, but in a way that made sense and that he, Ambrose, admired.

@@LukaBlight69 You see, that's one of the points i'm stuck on. Reuse her robotic parts. The wouldn't she still have a robotic body? Obviously she had an organic body now. Is that to say the genie changed the robot parts in to their human equivalent? Is so, I would question if that is creating or not. So there is no rule against him change stuff from one thing into another thing. I suppose that isn't creating. But he is kinda making a living being where there wasn't before. A mass of circuits and electronics gone and replace by flesh and blood. And then Pennys old robotic body disintegrates because the staff was used on the portals. Does that mean he created the Robot body and it has to go in accordance to the rules? I guess I am just a little dense in not picking this logic up on the first go around.

@@DocMicrowave No because Ambrose made a 2nd Penny using her existing parts, including the virus. Thus her soul is left in a limbotic state. He cannot destroy, so he had to put her soul into something. The penny he created only consisted of the robot parts and the virus. It was technically creation by division. Ambros knew what they were shooting for, but tried his damnest to make them doubt this path, but they put faith in their decision and Ambrose acted accordingly. He was outsmarted

@@LukaBlight69 Hmm, I'll just have to take your word for it then. So it was written, so it was done. Penny is Human now. Which gives her a whole lot more death flags. I don't think she will last long.

We are getting so used to things going wrong in some way that when it goes fine, it feels out of place. And I love this just because it lift our spirits, just so it hurts more when it falls...

When the D&D party uses "Wish" properly... And that last line from Ambrosius? That's the sound of Chekhov's Gun being loaded.... Emerald used Mercury's flip kick to disarm Ironwood. Also the two handles of the cannon he was carrying were his two guns. There was a Caroline Cordovin cameo in the episode; she's on a poster in the subway. Shane, the "Penny of Theseus" line killed me. Thank you for making me not the only person who thought that. And I'm going to object to the term "filler" here. Filler does nothing towards the overall plot. This had several major plot points occur ( Penny is real, got the Relic, Atlas is falling, etc.)

Ironwoods semblance is called mettle and it strengthens his resolve which allows him to carry through with his decisions, helping him hyper-focus.
@DocMicrowave3 жыл бұрын
Dumbest semblance ever. Usually being able to stay focused should be a good thing. Qrow's semblance could be pretty horrendous as well, but it didn't make him evil.

@@DocMicrowave Yes and no, he gets the will to make his goal possible, but at the same time gives him in incredible tunel vision. Thats why he start to think stuff like genocide are good options. The more anxious he gets about not getting his goal, the more tunel vision he gets.

@@elukiatv6776 Translation, worse semblance ever. So he was basically doomed to become an evil character because his semblance makes him one?

Or more simply Ambro cant destroy meaning if he preformed the creation it would kill the real penny as the soul would have a husk to exist in. So he is forced to fill in the missing parts to keep from destroying penny and breaking the rules. Since their wish didnt call for him to do so its not erased upon the next wish otherwise he would destroy penny and break the rules.

Mr. Ambrosius is the name of the staff's spirit.
@DocMicrowave3 жыл бұрын
I must have missed it, when was his name given to RWBY. (Ozcar?) Also, no password this time. Cuts out all the issues with having to get one I guess.

@@DocMicrowave Ruby says his name when she uses the staff. I believe it was around 14:00 min mark. I am assuming Oscar gave them the name. They just don't show Oscar telling the others the spirit's name.

@@mobstercassidy9400 I guess they wanted to avoid all the drawn out drama of keeping Jinn's name a secret. The rushed, fast pacing of V8 would not allow for all that. So no more passwords. Jinn was the only one for some reason.

It could be assumed that they told the Huntresses what was going to happen with the portals to Vacuo.

It could be. But it was never shown. And in this case, not even mentioned. Everyone just knew the plan despite Jaune getting cut off.

I mean, it took 6 people to take ironwood down. 7 if you count Oscar and Ozpin as 2 different people. That’s impressive that it took that many people vs one man, I wouldn’t say that he went down easy.

The showrunners have already declared that Ironwood's semblance, Mettle, is canon to the show, as well the two tie-in novels that focus on CFVY and SSSN in Vacuo.

Would have been cool to have that expositioned in-show in some way. I don't follow the podcasts, reddit or the novels. And they don't do WOR anymore.

"Yo general, I heard you like guns, so I made a megagun you could plug your guns into, so you can shoot while you shoot." The whole volume spent reducing Ironwood to a cartoon villain, and he gets taken down in under a minute, thanks to Miss OP Semblance switching sides just in time. How did he not see Winter's betrayal coming? Where are *any* other soldiers? At least pouty Winter is as adorable as hair-down Winter, and Ambrosius is the highlight of the chapter. Ambrosius referred to Pietro. We still have no idea what happened to him and Maria. Even Penny has forgotten all about them. Are they dead? Because, y'know, It's really unclear. Vacuo may be the only kingdom that's left unspoiled, but I doubt a city in the middle of a desert can sustain thousands of refugees; but that's where team Avata- I mean, team RWBY are supposed to go next, so off we go. It feels rushed. It feels contrived. It feels... like the runup to every volume finale after 3. (Volume 6 might get a pass, but points off for a mech fight timed to coincide with the debut of Gen:Lock.)
