After watching Episode 12, I feel like the lyrics have much greater significance than what we once believed at the beginning of the Volume. *SPOILERS AHEAD.* So if you have not watched all of Volume 3, you may be spoiled or just have no idea what I am talking about. So you have been warned. Oh, and I am copying the lyrics off of *+Chelsea Breeann* post further up/down in the comments section. So, thanks! Also, one more thing. *NOTHING I SAY IS PROVEN* Just bare that in mind. *Maybe red's like roses* Red Like Roses is Ruby's signature theme, and the song that describes her character. *Maybe it's the pool of blood* *The innocents will lay in* *When in the end you've failed to save them.* This is talking about what will happen when Ruby fails her mission, and the difference between blood and red, bloodshed, and Ruby. Kinda a shoddy explanation on my part, but it gets the point across. *Their dying eyes* *Are Wide and White like Snow* Really creepy lyrics, but I cannot think of any sort of special-ness to them that was not present when the song was first released. *And now they know the cost of trusting you's obliteration* This may be talking about ATLAS, as through Cinder and Torchwik's actions, they may have gone from one of the most successful company's out there to what the people view as terrorists and killers. *Mirrors will shatter* *Crushed by the weight of the world* This may be talking about Weiss, as she is always under her fathers influence, and is therefor under the control of one of Remnant's greatest powers. Not only that, but the song: Mirror Mirror is her theme for her trailer, and the line "Mirrors will shatter" is saying how her father has control of her life and how that is stopping her from staying in team RWBY. *The Pillars collapse in shame.* Blake feels undeniable shame from running away from her problems, her friends, and her home, but also feels shame for having her partner put Yang in a handicap. She feels shame for the actions of Adam as well. That's... a lot of shame. *There'll be no rest.* This may be talking about how immediately after nearly dying and needing rest, Ruby refuses rest and goes off to Haven. *There'll be no love.* Yang now hates all her friends (Weiss for leaving to Haven, even if it was forced, and Blake for running away from everyone), and refuses to even say goodbye to Ruby before she leaves too, or say "I love you too, Ruby" when Ruby tells Yang she loves her. *There'll be no hero in the end who will rise above* This is speaking of Phyrra's death, as she attempted to be a hero and run back to Beacon in order to defeat Cinder, but she paid the price for it. *And when it ends,* *The good will crawl* When the fight is over, the villains believe that the Hunters and Huntresses will all fall to them. *The shining light will sink in darkness* People will sink to the Grimm which was the plan of Cinder in Volume 3. *Victory for hate incarnate* This may be talking about Cinder's faction, as they kind of... hate everything for their own personal reasons. Thanks, +stormzone13! *Misery and pain for all* The villains are both hate incarnate, and will cause pain and suffering for everyone on Remnant *When it falls* *This* is what I am most proud of with my argument. When Cinder goes up and kills Phyrra, or when Ruby unleashes her true power, Beacon tower legitimately falls. So, as Beacon fell, it served as a catalyst for all the other kingdoms to go into fear and uncertainty, as all they know is that ATLAS is attacking innocent people, and Grimm are wreaking havoc. This final line is not talking about RWBY disbanding, it is talking about the fall of one the Remnant's greatest kingdom/school. All due to the *FALL* Maiden. I there are a few blanks in my explanation, so if others figure it out, I will add them in. Just... fingers crossed, as I may not notice them since I am kinda dumb in that manner. Also, I would offer you cookies, but those are only for the scythe-wielding, criminal defeating, silver-eyed middle school aged girls.

Although Emerald is loyal to Cinder after episode 10 she was sort of sad about the destruction which could possibly mean she will defect and hate Cinder for what she has done... +Nqnt41 I agree with many of your points but there are just some things that don`t sit well with me, first of all Weiss went back to Atlas, not Haven and Atlas is not a company it`s the kingdom and huntsmen school in the north. The trusting you is obliteration is obviously referring to Ozpin. In general with the reveal of Salem in the finale if you think of this as a message from her point of view to Ozpin, the whole lyrics make much more sense than trying to find an abstract meaning behind every single line even though the foreshadowing in this one was amazing and plentiful. Innocents will die, Ozpin/Ruby failed to save them, again people dying, the people that trusted in Ozpin failed and so did he and the school got obliterated, no rest no love no hero means no happy ending(for now), the good are devastated by what happened (especially yang, blake and weiss), hate incarnate is obviously Salem and Cinder+crew, and yes when it falls it means the CCT tower and everything it takes with it, communication, trust between nations, the fall of beacon. Also going by what we see, Pyrrha is the only one we see in full view falling away unlike the other 3 of who we barely see their arms, Ruby is the only one holding her head high in the last shot, ironwoods army playing an important role and the list goes on and on.

Little detail that almost nobody notices: In the end of this intro, Team RWBY stands in a circle under a dim light, sitting down looking hopeless. The detail here is that Weiss, Blake and Yang are all looking down, completely defeated. But Ruby is looking up. Although her face doesn’t show hope or anything like that, she’s the only one not putting her head down in defeat. Much like in the end of the volume itself, where when all the other girls were separated and with all hope lost, Ruby was the only one acting in a optimistic way.

Like they said last season, there are some who have lived hundreds of years and who are incomparably more powerful than the weak ones that lie on the edge of cities. Not to mention the fact that they seem almost endless. In season two, despite killing as many as they did, the swarm didn't stop until Glynda plugged the hole, and who knows how many more could have come out if she hadn't. The humans could run out of Dust and bullets long before the Grimm ran out of bodies to throw. Especially with the stronger ones being in the back.

I actually disagree with that. Rather than a song about despairing such as volume 3's intro with lyrics going "and when it ends the good will crawl the shining light will sink in darkness victory for hate incarnate misery and pain for all when it falls" basically saying good will fail and everyone will die. Let's just live is a song about not giving up. Intro 3 describes a situation about the evil winning and what will happen if they do. Intro 4 states that the predictions in intro 3 are correct and are happening. The good lost and many died. However It says that no matter what humanity cannot give up. Listen to the lyrics more closely: "Do we just go home? Can we follow through? When all hope is gone, There is one thing we can do Let's just live! Day by day and not be conquered by our sorrows The past can't hold us down We must break free" The lyrics basically say, many were killed, and the world is dangerous. Should we give up? We should not. By saying that we cannot be conquered by our sorrows, and that we must break free, the opening is saying that no matter what we can pull through. Much different from opening 3 saying that that the innocent will lie in a pool of blood. In other words, opening 3 is saying that the good will lose and everyone will live in misery. Opening 4 says that even though we have lost, we cannot accept defeat and we must push on. Opening 4 is a lot more badass and hopeful in my opinion.

Ian Meadows Actually , that's what my comment was based off of was that team JNPR's theme is that they are all based off warriors who at one point cross dressed to achieve a goal. (I won't elaborate here but I will if requested.) But all of them died in battle, except It was never clearly said anywhere (or at least not that I could find. ) as to whether Mulan fell in battle, or simply retired one day and died naturally,so I can't say for sure as to weather or not Ren will die.

Hmm...I'm not entirely sure what to think of this opening song. I don't know, it's not quite as awesome as the last two. Maybe that is just me. Also...damn, this is some dark imagery in this opening.

I just hope the series does not go as dark as some of the imagery in this opening this soon. We're only at season 3 and the last two were rather bright so taking it to a dark place this soon is kind of...too forward.

It does seem quick but it could be building it up further as if there is a storm brewing rather than its all going to hell, we just dont know. I am nervous but at the same time buzzed for the new season.

+Adan Dangli I doubt that. Monty did a great job, truly. But I've seen improvements between volume 1 and 2. And looking at this opening + the sneak peak, it looks really polished up. I doubt they'd continue it if they couldn't achieve Monty's Wants, quality wise.

ShouVertica That's not the only thing you should use to create an argument though. Yes it's a re-used asset, but there's plenty of new stuff in there that's well polished up. And if you haven't seen that sneak peek Vytal festifal stuff yet, you should.
