To Jacques, the rest of the Schnee family is just a tool box that he opens whenever he needs one of his children or his wife for some kind of political or technical endeavor. -Willow's scene makes a lot of what was speculated about her fall into place. This woman is broken by a life of abuse and seems unwilling to look for a way out so she falls into alcoholism, though is glad that her daughters got out of that life, even if it means she can't see them as much anymore. The fact that she had to set up security cameras says a lot with minimal effort. I like the implication that Whitley could've been spared from turning into a mini-Jacques if Weiss had "rescued" him but it's clear the person Weiss used to be before Beacon wouldn't do that. It suggests that if Jacques goes down, Whitley could be spared if Weiss so chooses to do something about it. -Not sure where that scene with Penny and Winter was going other than saying "The artificial life form is being more human than the human". I hope it indicates some kind of turning point for Winter where she does like Weiss and stops being such an ice queen all the time. -It's understandable why Klein is no longer employed by the Schnees though no less irritating. -Good to know that even if they're kinda at odds right now Nora and Ren still work together very well. -I think a good Plan B for getting rid of Whitley would've been to have Weiss' teammates gang up on him and drag him away like "OMG you're Weiss' little brother oh you're so cute tell me everything about you!". -I think it would've been funny if Whitley developed a puppy-dog crush on one of Weiss' friends (my money would be on Ruby), though I also think that would only make him extra annoying and maybe a little creepy.

You should read the comics. This lady made no sense. And whydo we continue to think Jaques is bad when he did one slap? Okay he is bad because he teamed with the bad guys but hell I'd feel scorne too when friends and your entire family hate you for just being firm. Seriously though the Willow in DC comics is much more entertaining and adds much more to the story rather than just being presented as a sad sob story. People really need to watch Overboard (1987).

This type of thing doesn't just happen to people. there is natural checks and balances and hell even the daughters could have done something. For a man whom we assume does illegal activity we sure don't see a ton of policework on him. Oh and by the way General Ironwood is pretty much the police force in the series here. I'm just saying none of this makes sense. Why wed this man? How did they even wed? Why is he in control of everything under the Schnees? It should be thr mother but oops! She is an alcoholic! Legally that means Laques takes control brcause his wife can't be rrsponsible. Are you seeing the issue here? The story tells us everything fell onto Jaques lap but he somrhow cheated everyone and everything with nothing ever tooppose him? He just feels bad to be bad to make us feel something. But hey...lets make him tag tream with Tyrian, a faunus who has killed 100s for pure enjoyment, and Watts, who betrayed his entire country seeking to overthrow the strongest military in Remnant, but hey Jaques is somehow just as bad right? That is a huuuge overstep from what we've seen.

@@Psykroids I'm going so skip some of the unnecessary paragraphs in this response and assume your issue here is that Jacques seems like a very cliche villain, which is perfectly reasonable claim. He most certainly is, but you are going the extra mile and saying that he is so cliche that he isnt evil, which is bullshit. Regardless of the lack of potential opposition from any parties involved in his business, whether directly or indirectly, the man has done terrible things and thus, is a terrible person. I have no idea how marriage into the SDC works, much like you, but I'd imagine that regardless of how he became the ringman of the company, he is now running the show and there is nobody who can check him except the law. If ironwood is the law, as you stated I'd be much more concerned about Salem than some guy who only wants wealth. Let it be a reminder that Jacques only quarrel with ironwood is the embargo. Edit: as for more why Willow has done nothing about Jacques' abuse of both her and her company or even his association with watts, I'd assume it's because he has something on her that keeps her from doing so.

It's interesting to see different reactions to Willow's talk with Weiss. The underlying abuse and victimhood that surrounds her is palpable to me and her last exchange with Weiss--"You haven't come back to stay, have you?" "No." "Good."--just crushed my heart. There was such care put into that scene and the understanding of an abusive relationship from the abused's POV was nothing short of chilling for me. It'll be fascinating to see how Weiss can possibly reach Whitley, since he took the opposite path than either of his sisters; Winter was able to leave and reject, Weiss sought to "earn" her father's approval and love by being "perfect" and drinking the family Kool-Aid. Whitley was left alone with a mother who wouldn't/couldn't protect him as he needed, so he had no choice but to ally himself with his abuser, to become a clone, in order to survive. It may be terribly difficult to break through that conditioning but I hope the rest of team RWBY can help Weiss do that.

I'm hoping that Whitley isn't actually like his father at all but is just emulating him to avoid abuse all the while secretly fermenting a deep hatred for the man and resentment for the rest of his family who have ignored, neglected, abandoned, and generally not given two shits about him his whole life. I want him to take over the SDC and break it up and sell off all it's assets just to destroy what his father built and spite him, and when Weiss, Winter, and/or his Mother try to talk to him and stop him he just shuts them down cold and cuts them out of his life. Something like he announces the permanent shutdown of the company and they try to stop him by saying it's the family company and he can't make that decision on his own and he retorts how it's only now that he has power that they start talking about being his family. Seriously, none of the Schnee women have any right to try to claim to be his family at this point, they're all just strangers who he shares a last name with.

If you don't know what it's like to have a father with issues and a mother who had been dealing with said issues for almost a lifetime now?...It's heart-wrenching. The moment Weis's mother grabbed that bottle and started chugging, it hurt knowing that she does it not to make her feel better about herself, but to numb the terrible life she's been living... As for why her mother was so blunt on her not forgetting about her brother...Parents never want their children to fall into the same trap as they did when they were younger, their greatest fear is that they will not grow up and learn the lessons of their family, but become the embodiment of it. She's begging her to not let him become the successor of his father, because then it's just another person in the cycle. And finally, the cameras...She's terrified of her husband, the camera's are there to not only "Assist" her if she ever intended to escape, but it is a means of keeping an eye on her children. She didn't leave her room for days just because she was depressed...She was looking for Weiss as well, and I can assure you she probably kept looking for her for days until she ended up drinking those panicked thoughts away until she had a black out episode. "That's right...You left." She has no recollection of how much time has passed, even forgetting that her daughter had left...It's terrible, and I hope no one else has to experience that. Love your family, especially when they hurt the most. Being there, even if a little, helps them so much.

"I love you Penny!" Even though that's not part of the song, I've grown so accustomed to Arnold saying it that I can time exactly when he'll do it and say it along with him. As for Klein, once Jacques goes down and Mama Schnee takes his place, I think we'll see Klein rehired. I have a feeling that Whitley will be instrumental in bringing down Jacques. On a related note, Whitley is a jerk, but I do feel some sympathy for him. Dude was left to fend for himself with a drunkard mom and an abusive (mentally and most likely physically) father. I just want Mama Schnee (and Whitley) to be happy :( I didn't really like Watts all that much when he was introduced, but he's growing on me as a character. I really want to know his motivations for working with Salem.

Willow Schnee is in _no_ position to take control of the SDC from Jacques at the moment. If she is to have any chance of running the company well at all, someone needs to bring her back from her pit of depression and anxiety, not to mention her drinking problems.

I don't think Willow is in a good position to take over running the SDC (though she would have the legal claim to do so if/when Jacques goes down). However, someone else might be able to do it, say someone who spent a good part of her life expecting to one day run the company. Obviously they're not going to detach Weiss from the main cast to run things, but I think the prospect will at least be raised.

I can understand Whitley’s situation and how he feels, if he is just angry at Weiss for leaving. I moved out right after graduating from high school and he felt resentful of it for a while, would be absolutely awful, and I just accepted the thought that he just simply didn’t like me. My theory: Ironwood’s influence is the tin man, who is missing his heart so he will attempt ignore his humanity (heart) to complete his plan in the end, just like he was referencing last chapter to Oscar. The plan to use dust to levitate Amity Tower will fail and in desperation, Ironwood will either attempt to or succeed in taking the Staff of Creation to levitate the tower instead. This would cause Atlas to fall onto mantle or force others to stop him. Side theory: Winter will become the next maiden before the finale and have to choose between her loyalty to Ironwood and protecting Mantle by deciding whether or not to grant Ironwood access to the Staff.

My theory: Watts and Tyrian will be defeated, but in the heroes' moment of reprieve, Cinder will show up with Neo in tow. Winter becomes the Winter Maiden, but is confronted by Cinder. The two Maidens fight but Winter is overwhelmed with relative ease by Cinder's power and experience. Cinder then either kills Winter to take the power or siphons it from her and leaving her seriously injured, thus becoming the second most powerful being in Remnant. As the Winter Maiden, Cinder gains access to the Winter Maiden's Vault and claims the Staff of Creation for her own, setting Atlas on a collision course with Mantle and quite possibly the deaths of countless innocents (the second time that she's decimated an entire kingdom through her own machinations - 2 out of 4).
