It was always going to be hard for Casey to take over from her dad but she Excelled. Her style is a bit different from Jeffs but that is part of what makes this soundtrack great not that i'd ever complain about an epic jeff guitar solo

Not really. It was more exciting for her than difficult. She was raised for a very long time into music so she was a pro at this point and even has her own band.

Guide my way is so perfect, red like Roses Pt 1 and 2 is all about Ruby’s struggle with who she is compared to Summer and that pressure of living up to her mother’s legacy. I love the allusion a to Penny after “the dust settles”. Because after the ascension, Ruby is reminded that beyond all the horrible things she’s had to deal with, she’s still that girl from beacon who just wanted to make friends and do the right thing. She’s no longer chasing after the impossible of dream of Summer, the one “that filled her head with dreams” and brought her to “emptiness and sadness” now she’s the one, as it says, inspiring the Fairytale. OOOH it’s so good!

Casey specifically said on her Insta story that she was so happy that she and Ariyel, two queer singers, were able to sing a song about two queer characters and have it be the most anticipated song on the soundtrack. That's just so beautiful.

my interpretation of guide my way is it's the only rlr song that's just about Ruby without being about her team or Summer. and it's just a conversation with herself after realizing she was enough and she doesn't need to be anyone other than Ruby Rose (I'll be who you were and I'll be even more is said to her past self). and you can see she's finally trusting in herself to carry the burden that was placed on her by her younger self. the line at the end "i will guide my way out" shows that the person she was dreaming of, who she always knew, to guide her way is the girl she always wanted to be, and now finally is

Also I don’t hear a lot of people mention my favorite part of “Guide my way” In the guitar solo they straight up ripped a piece of it out of “Inside” and put it in. I loved that they connected the songs like that

bro, Guide My Way legit almost made me cry. I like how it started, it felt like i was chilling in a beach as the sun came down and the wind blowing softly. then once that beat came, Ruby was suddenly beside me smiling despite everything she had went through, she was still Ruby. but that's just me, so.

I was always so conflicted with who it was because it seems like it could definitely fit Ruby and Jaune but can be argued to be Neo too, it's just the scene is nowhere close to her beef with the Cat yet

also the part "im what inspired the fairy tale" can refer to jaune giving louis the stories of his friends, and could also be (and this may be a stretch) ruby in chibi during the episode where she was red riding hood n yang said red riding hood was just based on ruby.

I'm late but since it's Red Like Roses, I'm pretty sure the whole song is just for Ruby. That line is referring to her alluding to The Girl Who Fell Through The World because she's like the second retelling of Alyx just in her failing light and much darker place, but it's such a powerful line and it's definitely my favorite for that aspect

FYI: Martin didn't work on Quiet. So all props for everything in that song go solely to Casey as that's entirely a solo project for her.

The whole OST was so Good in so many ways,I do wish that Sebastian Evans ii was hired to help out Casey and Martian with the Soundtrack which I REALLY hope that he's brought in for V10 cause I think he can add some Special Flare to the music.

finally got around to watch the rwby soundtrack reaction XD but yea it really is a good soundtrack, i don't know if it was a bias that happened uncontionessly but guide my way needed to grow on me for multiple listens, i really like the song now but idunno it had big shoes to fill i suppose but i think it's a worthy successor, my most surprising one was checkmate tho, that song goes hard

what really surprised me about Worthy was that the song turned out to be in 7/8 time. I couldn't tell during the scene, but this version really shows it off, especially once the drums come in.

Rooster teeth stopped doing physical CD's after the 7 so no 8 or 9 physical CD's its the same with the posters but they stopped making them after volume 6
