RWBY x JL teaser but Ruby remembers what a landing strategy is

I liked the new JL RWBY Pt. 2 crossover movie teaser they released recently - the action and animation was all solid, but once again there's a lot of simple things ALREADY established about RWBY's world and its fights being ignored, and it bothered me enough to make a quick edit just to satisfy myself.
Basically just removed any pointless reaction shots of Blake and Yang standing around (just have them off-screen; showing them doing nothing just makes them look worse), and Ruby flailing and screaming as if she DOESN'T know exactly how to use Crescent Rose to stop her fall. With this edit, the vibe is hopefully closer to Ruby choosing to trust Weiss to line her up so she can deliberately land on the truck and bounce off it - implying not only quick strategy on Ruby's part but also being in sync with her teammate.
This is already Volume 7+ era Ruby, guys, she shouldn't be making mistakes like this. It seems like a nitpick, but what is RWBY's frustrating track record with how it characterises its cast, if not a hundred small missteps all piled up on each other?

This is actually one complaint in this comment section I can agree with. While it's not as bad as it was during V4-5 and Ruby has become more respectable since then, RT still seems to enjoy giving Ruby occasional goofy moments where she messes up and screams instead of just acting normal and professional. Because she's such a cute widdle dumb baby uWu! Ugh. I hope whenever this channel starts releasing its own spin on RWBY, it's going to avoid making Ruby look incompetent for comic relief.

*sigh* I wish…. so BAD. That we can get a full remake of RWBY. Ice queendom was, in my opinion, a good start. I wish that they can stop worrying about the appearance and start actually focusing on the characters themselves. Like their personalities, interactions, behaviors, origins, individualistic childhoods, and in depth meaning to their characters.

@diablo4838 I completely agree 1000% but I believe in objective standards. I shall deliver a buffet of a rewrite. Sort of. I turned my AU of RWBY into my own stories. It's still heavily RWBY inspired. Mainly just a recolor and a few tweaks. Working on the audio of the announcement video now. It's the closest thing that will be RWBY having quality.

I really don’t get what the point of having her flail like that is It was established since the Red Trailer that the point of Crescent Rose having a sniper rifle is to combo with her semblance and give her amazing air control so she can basically fly through a fight. If they wanted that scene with Weiss using her semblance panicked they could have just had Ruby shout to her mid flight and have Weiss get that means “give me a strong landing” but because Ruby is moving so fast Weiss has to act faster than she’d like to set it up in time

At this point, Team RWBY should be beyond any small group of Grimm. With everything they have accomplished, and all the times in the show where they show them DESTROYING hordes of these guys Solo, to struggle against A Grimm that was introduced to be an adequate challenge for first year students is laughable. I mean really, it's to the point that Grimm get INSTANTLY dusted by them unless it's to introduce an new type of Grimm, or the hound Grimm. Because I have some faith in the writers, I believe that the Grimm is special in some way. Or at the very least, Team OP RWBY are trying not to kill this Lv1 Grimm for some reason.

In addition to removing Yang and Blake, it also edits down a lot of the screaming, and turns her crashing into the truck into a more deliberate action, making her (and everyone involved) look significantly more competent, and giving the whole scene more weight It's amazing what a few little changes can do

How is Ruby struggling against a single snake that Ren was able to take out two of on day 1 at Beacon? Also, it didn't feel like her shooting for speed was giving her a speed boost all the time. I think the animator's didn't know or forgot that when you want someone to propel forwards with a heavy weapon, their feet should be off the ground? I think? I know nothing about animation though. I'm wondering what is in that truck to weigh it down to not tip over, given the weight of Crescent Rose and the speed Ruby was still traveling, given she shattered the windows during kick off and wobbled it. Hope that guy has affordable insurance and a good truck warranty. Still will check out Part 2 but I worry it's going to be a mess. Will be watching with my friend who knows DC super hero stuff and has a better memory with RWBY than I do while watching if we need to pause due to me having questions. Was how we handled Part 1 which I think could have been smoothed out at the start so we'd have context of how those machine's work that made the VR world in Part 1. Or, I would of liked that explanation. I like the edit showing her being confident without the dumb cuts to Yang and her cgf (cat girlfriend) with the faces while just standing there and doing nothing. (Such a great team those four are to not work as a team to just finish off the single, lone, Grimm -sarcasm~.) It flows nicer and keeps the focus on Ruby. Don't know why she's running to lead it back to the truck with innocent people there. Then again...the later volumes seem to remove care from the four girls, or one more than the others, to give a single thought to innocent bystanders being anywhere within the fighting area they are running/using, and thus won't even bother thinking "Maybe I should lead the Grimm away from the people who can easily crook to this monster".

1) Ruby took it out in about the same amount of time as Ren and didn't even get hit. 2) The entire ending of V8 had RWBY defend the innocent bystanders and try to get them to safety as quickly as possible. There's also a scene like this in the movie. But I guess truth doesn't matter when someone really wants to feel outraged, right?

If you have the full clip of Ruby killing the Grimm, then please share that as in this clip, as the Grimm is still alive after she has broken the windows of the vehicle. I have not see Part 2 as I heard it was to be released towards the end of October, so I have not checked for it on the online streaming services RT and Warner would be releasing it on. This still does not remove the fact Ruby is running directly towards the bystanders hiding behind their truck for protection. She's not making a choice to run away from them or keep her distance from them and then get flung over towards them. She's actively running in the direction of them and gets hit in the way she was running. That is actively putting them in danger since Yang and Blake aren't trying to get the people away from the scene and are just letting them crouch there and letting them hope they don't get killed while hiding behind their truck for protection. Odd you say V8 specifically when I didn't list a specific volume, I just said "later volumes". In V8, there were other options for evacuating the people that would have had them be safe and away from Cinder,... such as: airships, better guidance abilities on the new tower that RT got rid of the 2 old people on, having them hold up in the bunkers until RWBY could lure Salem's focus away using an airship with Penny while leaving the vault closed, have Penny work with the second team to evacuate people via airships or on foot/vehicles from Mantle while RWBY acts like they got the Maiden with them to keep Salem and thus Cinder distracted. Just a few options that could have been possibly explored and made possibly V9 getting to and thus talking and connecting to each other again emotionally to address their pent up feelings, or just arriving at Vaccuo while saying they went through an emotional healing off screen... but because the girls refused to work with anyone who wasn't telling them their plans, taken from Ironwood and implemented more haphazardly, were the best thing in the world, innocent people died in the In-between as well as who knows how many in Vaccuo as we have heard of how lawless and hard it can be to live there on top of the Grimm present. Those who have never had to fight for things are not going to last long and that is going to wear thin those who did go with them, given the massive number of civilians that crossed that portal. We did see Rin collapse from exhaustion with using his Semblance at the end of V8. Yes, they have Winter who is a newly made Maiden, but even she's going to have blind spots since she'll need to make sure her magic doesn't hit and harm bystanders who don't have the protective shield she and other fighters who trained to use it has. I never said I was mad at anyone who still enjoys the direction later RWBY went. I might find the writing and choices incredibly frustrating but I never said in my post that I hate anyone who likes later RWBY or these 2 crossovers. I found the first crossover enjoyable with a friend explaining the DC characters to me as I am not really into super hero media. I plan to watch the second crossover with that same friend so we can talk about things as we did with the first one. I'm glad there are still fans supporting Rooster Teeth financially for RWBY merch and DVD sales with the later Volumes and are working to help RT get Warner to greenlight Volume 10 for them. I do apologize if you took my text tone of writing as me being outraged. I wasn't feeling outraged so I do apologize if any word choices and ordering of my words gave you that impression.

I would also ask you where exactly were they going to lure Salem according to your plan and how warning the world about Salem would factor into this or how any of that would work without Ironwood willing to cooperate with them, but I can tell by your tone and arguments that you're seemingly just another Ironwood fan who is bitter his favorite character became a villain and is looking for reasons to shit on RWBY and nitpick their every action for faults to feel vindicated, so you're going to dowplay their succcesses, emphasize their mistakes and go for the worst, least charitable possible interpretation of anything they do with 0 benefit of the doubt (such as implying that them saving the people doesn't matter because everyone is going to die anyway, any minute now). You use the petty "they used his plan!" accusation even though it by all accounts shouldn't matter because Ironwood abandoned that plan by that point. You also seem to pretend that they couldn't work together because "Ironwood told them they weren't perfect" and not because he was going to sacrifice a city and potentially the rest of the world and wasn't willing to compromise on that. Now I expect you to give any sort of standard Ironwood fan rebuttal ranging from "it doesn't count because that was the evil writers assasinating his character" to "it doesn't count because he was driven insane by RWBY's evil actions of daring not to trust him" to "it doesn't count because he was in the right and did nothing wrong"... I mean, at this point you can just say "I cared about Ironwood's character far more than I ever did about RWBY, so I am inherently biased to make judgements in his favor". I might be a bit too harsh and assuming a lot, but I've seen these kinds of arguments before and I know where they lead, and I'm definitely not interested in having another argument with someone who's going to assume the worst about everything RWBY do.
