RWBY - Yatsuhashi's Terrifying Semblance

Yatsuhashi is already strong from what we saw in Volumes 2 and 3 of RWBY but in After the Fall, we discovered what his semblance is capable of. Yatsuhashi's power has the potential to cause a lot of trouble but in his hands, he is one of the strongest people in Remnant.

I feel like his mother being more strongly effected due to her being exhausted hints that the mental fortitude of the victim comes into play. If someone with a weak mind(or a mind in a weakened state) loses more memory than intended, then it would be possible that someone with a strong mind could resist it, regardless of semblence. I choose to believe this is the case, because if it isn't then his semblence is unbeatable, and how can there even be any conflict at that point?

I think it would be idiotic of the writers if they decided to push Yatsu's Semblance to the point where he could make someone "forget how to breathe". Breathing, like opening and closing your eyes and mouth, or peeing and pooping, is a body's natural movement and/ or response, for any multi-celled animal on planet Earth; these are not things that must be learned or remembered, they are things bodies do automatically at birth (or at hatching). We actually have to train and remember how to restrain our bodies from doing these things, if we wish to do so. (and I realize that RWBY takes place on the world of Remnant, not "this planet", but we have to assume that biology there is, for all intents and purposes, and with the exceptions of Aura and Semblances, the same as on Earth). So, all that being said, yeah, it would make zero sense if Yatsu of anyone else could make anyone forget how to breathe or forget how to do any other automatic physical response/movement.

When you're put under before surgery, the narcotics often cause you to forget to breathe, so they hook you up to a machine that keeps your lungs going. So yeah, it's absolutely possible to make the body forget how to breathe. The system is automated, but it's still being operated by the brain, just a different part. So it's definitely plausible Yatsu could make someone forget how to breathe

I Have the feeling that CFVY and SSSN ending up in Vacuo is CRWBY setting up the Final Showdown with Salem there. This would mirror the Ending battle of the Great War 80 years earlier. I would not be surprised if Volume 7 ends with the defeat/destruction of Atlas resulting in More Huntsmen teams fleeing to Vacuo as a Last refuge, setting up a last stand there.

I have a theory for Before the Dawn!!! From after the fall we already know there's some other villain trying to capture people with powerful semblance, what if somehow word got back to Carmine's boss and they went after Yatsu in the next book. Spoiler but not really?? In the scholastic description of Before the Dawn it says the headmaster of shade is going to split up all the teams and create new ones. What if Yatsu gets captured but he's all alone because he doesn't have his team??

how to breath isnt a memory, its a subconcious action so he probably cant make people forget how, but potential is there to make them for get everything else, especially if his aura is enhanced

I wonder. If he used it on Salem, it probably wouldn't do much. She would be disoriented but he would probably have to work for Years to erase her mind.

He wouldn't be able to make people forget how to breath or make their heart beat because those aren't memories. You don't remember how to breath, you just do it, and his power is to erase *memories*. He could potentially erase years of training from you, but the muscle memory would remain, leaving you capable of fighting, but not consciously knowing how to position yourself, when your openings are, what to do, ect.
