Don't be fooled by the commentators. A good example is when Kearns says McCaw was a mile offside. But at 3:21 as Gregan grabs the ball, McCaw is clearly just onside and anticipates play brilliantly. This is typical of McCaw's play, and he also knew the offside laws better than many commentators and spectators as well.
