Hes honestly the best player in South Africa. It's very hard to have a "best" player in rugby, but honestly over the last 6 years he's been that guy for us. Cant believe we won a whole world cup without him, that just shows how good the Bok depth is

Had a crucial hand in both RWC final tries (his draw and pass put away Am & Mapimpi), 1/3 of one of the most consistently dominant front rows, #1 or thereabouts globally for a decade, never has a bad game, squeaky-clean record. A cheat code who is underrated only by those who are not privy to the unique politico-selection chess in which he has been an uncomplaining selfless pawn. Best hooker since Keith Woods imo, and then only on account of force of personality/XFactor.

well said. People do not understand how well Rassie has managed to handle the racist regulations that South African sport has to deal with. The Springboks could have very well fallen like the Protea's if not for Rassie and selfless individuals like Marx.

Really hope that he can cement his place in the Boks starting line-up after his performance yesterday against the All Blacks. He is our best hooker by a mile.

He's been the best hooker in SA for years, his not starting has been a tactic rather than a result of his abilities being overlooked. Bongi is supposed to bludgeon the opposition for the first 40-60, Marx comes off the bench and plays a far more dynamic role. Of course he can and probably should still start just because he's so good, I agree.

He's been brilliant throughout his career. Absolute world beater!! And i would agree he is SAs MVP of 2023 so far - so unbelievably consistently good, and part of the worlds most dominant scrummage
