Could you do a call out for my nephew James Lasis who suffered a herendous injury playing for Nice at Stade Nicois two years ago. He is a quadriplegic now and fighting to regain some movement back in England. He played second row and ask anyone at the stadium he is a lovely chap who was caught at the bottom of a scrum.

The team is very deep, and Bongi had an excellent 2019 Cup….and nobody is irreplaceable. (Next man up!) That said, Marx IS one of the world’s best players, and the Boks’ absolute best winner of breakdown turnovers, and his loss may be as big a psychological blow as a tactical problem. Fans who a day ago were saying South Africa would simply stroll to a repeat title are suddenly sounding like all is lost. But I think the squad’s “stronger together” mantra may help it get over the sudden crisis mood.
@frontierlandfrank53148 ай бұрын
No one on our team is even close to Marx at this point. He’s been our best player for a while now.
@jonathandavis85998 ай бұрын
I agree, Marx is the best. We lose a lot without him, but Bongi scrums better than Marx. Deon on the bench adds that turnover skills we lose with Marx, and Deon is also fast and fights till the end. Also they will bring Pollard in as as backup for the goal kicking and probably play him at 12 should Manie not improve in that department. So bad yes, but not all doom and gloom. I believe with Bongi and Fourie we get all the qualities that Marx offers.
@ethancroft55128 ай бұрын
Bongi is completely off the pace, his lineout throwing is questionable and he misses crucial tackles every game he plays. This is quite frankly a disaster for the Boks.

Look, Marx is brilliant and one of my favourite players and I hope his recovery is swift and 100%. That being said, Bongi is solid and then bringing on a fresh Deon Fourie from the bench is great. Sadly he has been overlooked for most of his career even though he has been brilliant and works so hard! He will be like an additional loose forward on the field and I belive this is his time to shine for the Springboks. This injury opens the door for Handre Pollard to join the squad. I like tghe way Manie Libbok is playing so I would not replace him at flyhalf but instead include Pollard at centre. This means we will have playmakers gallore in the back,(Libbok, Pollard, Le Roux, Willemse) combine that with the likes of (Moodie,De Allende, Esterhuizen, Kriel) at centre and then our quick wings and we can field a dangerous backline!
