These videos are inspiring me to get a 600€ TDI Passat of my own. How does registration work though? Here in Croatia it would take at least 50€ to get the guy inspecting the car to relax his stance on extreme exhaust modifications and the fact that the car is smoking more than the coal power plant of a locomotive. In my opinion this is far too much, 13,27€ is the standard sum that makes any normal car with minor deficiencies (if it's missing brakes for example) pass inspection.

@@Heilokappa Yes. Understand that Croats have the weakest morals of all of humanity and corruption apparently runs in our blood, at any scale. That comment is in fact based on a true story. My father was extremely lazy and irresponsible maintaining his shitbox Fiat Tipo some 25 years ago. The brakes had worn out to the point where there was nothing left of them, you hit the brakes and you'd only hear metal on metal scraping and you'd have a very hard time coming to a stop. His registration was due so he went to get it done, without replacing the brakes (!!!) He warned the inspector "the car has no brakes". The inspector thought he was joking so he proceeded. Imagine his surprise when they nearly hit the wall. "The car has no brakes!", he said. Father gave him the 13,27€ (100 HRK) and he actually approved the car! Just told him to replace them ASAP. Though this is certainly the most extreme example I've ever heard of road safety corruption. Usually you'd pay them to ignore less critical issues (but still serious) like a broken passenger airbag, corrosion and various other things.

Father gave him 13,27€ (100 HRK) and he actually let him through!!! Only told him to get them replaced ASAP. Usually this trick is used for only slightly less deadly issues like a broken airbag, fucked tyres, weakened individual brakes or corrosion.
