I am using Rx 580 8gb a few weeks ago. Rx580’s performance is great , but the driver is a little bit bad and the encoder is so bad than NVIDIA gtx 1060, i think nvidia encoder is the best for gaming and recording video, so if you are a gamer , want a chip price to get a best performance just choose AMD RX 580, but if you want to record video i think you choose Nvidia GPU is better 😂

The Rx580 ist better for gaming, but if you need the Cuda cores for video editing, upscale video and tools like Photoshop ect. Is the old gtx1060 perfect.

Cuda will be more popluar in terms of software support but the popular powerful video edit apps use* opencl and direct compute for AMD GPUs including davinci resolve, Vegas and all the adobe products.

Be careful about old GPU because CUDA is not fast on these. To give an idea with a Blender benchmark, a 5800x CPU score 209 then 1060 3G score 219. In that kind of situation using CUDA wont provide any performance improvement. It will even end up a way slower on a serious project who need more than 3GB of Vram.

The logical comparison to the 6gb 1060 (the top 1060 model) is the 8gb 580 (the top 580 model). How is it unfair to compare a lower VRAM 1060 (even though 1060s on average have lower VRAM) vs a 580 with higher VRAM, bc it has a 1gb VRAM advantage, but it would be fair to give the 1060 a 2gb VRAM advantage by using the 6gb model? @@eyjey1696 Yeah i saw it and it's ~95w vs 150w~ so not that big of a difference , and it's a must to undervolt any gpu you have even if it's entry level and the power consumption will be reduced by a good margin and i think after doing that the rx 580 will not use more than 130w maximum so not bad at all and actually even the 1060 will use like 75w maximum so yeah it's a win win to do it and it's impossible to harm your gpu undervolting it (and one another thing which is a special situation if you use some kind of renewable energy then you will never even think about this little difference and I'm doing just that using solar panels for almost everything in my house and 400ah battery for nightly consumption with a little bit of electricity use so yeah not everyone is capable of doing this but it's a valid option).

1060 на 20% быстрее, и потребляет 120ват, лимит на производительность нужно в настройках на максимум поставить, лажа для лохов тупых(имхо)
