Wow! 68 watts for 107fps in SOTTR 1080 Ultra is pretty incredible. The fact that this kind of performance can be had inside the 75w PCIe power envelope is amazing to me.

@@valuehunter5544 I mean the bottom line is, you would never see it on retail shelves, as the power supply I tested with has extremely low ripple (Corsair HX1000). Basically when they design these products they have to think of mediocre power supplies etc. and adjust accordingly, which is why pc enthusiast tuning will always be a thing.

@@valuehunter5544 Power draw over a PCIe socket can spike above 75w harmlessly, but 75w is the continuous power draw rating. The point is moot though because if your card has a power connector, it likely won't boot without it plugged in. If you want to power a GPU on slot power only, buy a model which doesn't have a power connector.

@@chillglobe They(5600XT&2060)trade blows. I would get 2060 because of DLSS and Raytracing performance. I know 2060 is often mocked by PCMR ,claiming it cannot do RT properly,but I am fine even with unstable 30fps,so it it goes above that in many cases with some settings twiks,I am sold. And with DLSS 2.0,the performance jump can be quite dramatic,with picture quality close to or better than Native. It remaines to be seen if it can do DLSS 3.

The undervolt performance shows that this architecture could make a fantastic low profile 75W card (I.e no external power) . Kinda makes me sad. A 75W 6500 would smash the next best option (gtx 1650).

but the problem is that GDDR6 costs 14-15$ per GB, so a RX 6500 with 6GB of VRAM will mean that the VRAM alone will cost 84-90$.

As someone who's been trying to upgrade for the last 2 years from an rx 570 4gb, picking this up for a measly $299 has me really excited. The fact that it trades blows with the 3060 for 100+ dollars LESS is pretty amazing, sure I could have went for the XT model but it's such a sizeable upgrade for so little money. Seems to be the 1080P budget gaming champ right now, and I'm here for it. Card should arrive in a few days, hopefully I get a good one lol

Sold my RX570 8gb for close to newprice after 2.5 years of use, and picked up this model 2nd hand for 250 euro's while still having 1.5 years of warranty. If you can make such a deal, go for it. The performance upgrade is sweet.

A bit late to this party, but I purchased an RX 6600 in Dec 2021 and while it was still far above MSRP, it was £100 sterling less than the comparable RTX 3060 which is amazing seeing as they are supposed to be around the same MSRP. That said, I was still able to sell my old GTX 1060 on ebay at a way overinflated price, so things evened themselves out really when it came to prices for old and new. 😆

It's common sense for crypto- miners to buy video cards that use extremely low power because the reduced effort and expense to install and run the cards compared to the top premium cards is worthwhile if the cards give a good return within the allotted time the miners specify. If you currently own and use anything below a GTX 1660 Super or something in the range of an RX 590, purchasing an RX 6600 Non-XT may provide some performance improvement that may appeal to you if you get the card under 350 US dollars. Right now almost everything sold are in nose-bleed level too high pricing.

I was able to sell my GTX 1070 and a kit of DDR3 16GB dimms for basically the price of a new RX 6600, so I sprang for the opportunity to do the trade. I think the value I'm getting isn't great, but I basically am getting a 10-30% GPU performance increase and on average a 24% increase in gaming, so I think it was worth it. I no longer needed the DDR3 and the GTX 1070 was a Founders Edition that ran extremely hot at 79C, which is what was standard for the FE 1070 cards. Glad I'll have a cooler 60C Gigabyte card, more performance, and it didn't cost me more because I paid for it selling old parts.

I got the RX 6600 XT SWFT for my new pc build for only $189 and it was a pretty huge upgrade from my old pc which had a Radeon HD 5450 from ATI (oh god that's old). Nice to finally see games at more than 30-50fps lmao. Kinda wish I'd gone for 6700/6700XT but the price upcharge of 6700 from the 6600 XT relative to it's upcharge from the 6600 was too great so I couldn't go for it ($283 6700xt, $189 6600xt, $159 6600).

I'm upgrading from a 1650 Super to a RX 6600. Funny how it has double the memory, and double the speeds, but yet it's still cheaper than my 1650 Super. Nvidia needs to step up their game on budget cards. I mean come on, you release a GTX 1630 for $180. But yet, a 6 year old 1050 TI can easily surpass it. Not to mention, a 1050 TI can be obtained for $100 or less.

Ahh yes, the new AMD strategy of releasing something new with around the same performance or slightly weaker than the previous-gen but for less than 20$ seems to be working just fine as it's a slightly weaker RX5700 but for less the 20$ of the release price of the RX5700 such great a deal indeed.

from about 30 benchmarks or so, it's equally as fast as the RX5700 on average (actually 2% faster), but yeah, the RX 6600XT should be 280$ MSRP and the RX 6600 should be 240-250$ MSRP.

Its a 2019 card for 2021 that will be scalped and sold for $600+. I'm sorry but from where I'm sitting its a 1080p card. To me spending $320 let alone the insane prices the miners will pay for them it offers no value for money whatsoever. Basically the 6600 is a $200 card with a $320 price tag no one will ever see because 4 year old $200 cards now sell for $400 anyway. If Nvidia and ATI are so keen to kill off PC gaming, they're going the right way about it. A console seems a far better option right now, and I can't see that changing any time soon. I'm a big fan of Bryan and tech yes city, but "buy it at MSRP if you can" sounds a bit too much like Linus tech tips "Grab one if you can" to me, and I can't stomach their take on current GPU's either.

rx6600 is best for 1080p gaming. It is the most power efficient (to performance it offers) graphics card to have ever been made running at 100W. Best budget king IMO.

I got this card yesterday and it is a game changer, can run Halo Infinite at 1440p mostly high at 60 fps. Coming from an RX 550 4GB. And handles unreal engine 5 games like their nothing, do not regret getting this card.

Not worth the money imo. Better get a 5700XT which gives you almost double the hashrate and a 256MB memory interface without this stupid infinity cache solution.(biggest issue with 6000 series imo) Its also a bit faster in gaming than a 3060 as well as the 6600XT

I remember when 80 level cards were 300$, as in the hd4870 being slightly weaker than the gtx 280 for less than half the price. XD Or the HD5870 for 330$ beating or being equal to the gtx 480 Or the r9 290/390 for 300-329 beating the gtx 780 series. But hey AMD had to from 23% profit margins to 55.7% at MSRP from 2019 till now and Nvidia is balling at the 60% since 2018, while they sold the gtx 1000 series GPUs at 90-138% AT MSRP, yes the most overpriced GPUs in history.

in my region these cards are at $500 USD right now. used to be much higher. The trend of these GPU prices seems to be that they are slowly falling in price. 3050 cards currently go for around $400 here and 3060 is like $700. although that is still a terrible price 2019 standard, it really is much better compared to the condition a few months ago. @@valuehunter5544 my friend has an i5 8500 which has 6 cores and my i3 10100 is in most of games better and in apps like rendering in Solidworks, making simulation in ansys etc.. perform same.

Wow so I've been fussing with this card for a little while now. I took your advice of maxing the fan speed to 60% and I'm impressed how quiet it is at that level. I'm very particular about volume levels of my PC, but previously I had to choose between quiet in games, and a higher idle temp around ~40c. I disassembled the card yesterday and applied new cooler master thermal paste, then tinkered some more. I settled in with manual fan control, max 60% and basically a linear increase from 30c to max temperature. It's not only super quiet now, but it also has better thermal performance (maxing around 60c) with a quiet idle, and stable performance at my OC/undervolt settings.

When you first announced the MSRP I almost spit my drink out. $329USD is way too high for this. A fair price for this card should be around the $239-$250 mark. The 6600XT is also priced outrageously as well it should be priced around $260-$280 I wish people were wise enough to see that they are being ripped off and gouged by these corporations. I'm waiting and see if the Intel cards will be as good as advertised.

Pretty naive to expect it would help if normal people stop buying high priced cards when "other side" is buying same cards for making money. As many they can if price isn't too high to ruin profitability. For 6600 this threshold is around $500, any 6600 well under this price is instant buy for miners. And Intel cards are not preventing mining, they will be valued same way as Nvidia&AMD cards. Their de-facto prices will be at threshold too, whatever it is at the time. And if mining boom goes away, so does high prices.

if you run the gpu on the quiet mode bios it is permanantly silent you dont have to change any settings and the hotspot temp doesnt go over 85*C
