@@VeteranSSVahramey Would you care that the 6900xt is pulling about 150w more? Remember, power reporting changed between the gens, so the 6900xt is about 20-30% higher than it reports while the 7800xt is accurate. The 6900xt is a little faster in most things though, it does lack AV1 which is great for recording and is making more and more inroads in VR and streaming. If you don't do VR or streaming and don't care about power draw, the 6900xt is a better card, the 7800xt is also better for AI stuff. Sounds like you have a great deal on that 6900xt though, so that really does make it a hard decision.

7800xt if you didn't buy yet. This is partially based on "personal" bias (in that 6900xt and 6950xt are scarcer to find in the my local used market for a reasonable price at the moment), while you can find most 7800xt models store-new at basically msrp.

I'm from Ukraine and got my used 6900 XT from ASRock (Phantom Gaming version) in mid-December last year for $454. Before Bitcoin price surge in October it was even cheaper, around $420. RX 7800 XT, however, was and still is significantly more expensive (because of the war of course), around $630, so it was a very obvious choice for me 😂

the way to go for 7800 xt was the Ryzen 5 7600X. i have 0 personal knowledge on the matter so you should do your own research but from what i have seen on plenty youtube videos from "experts" that was supposedly the best pair for 1440p gaming. in my country the ryzen 5 one is also a little cheaper and i heard that any cpu more than that is a waste of money when you combo with the 7800xt due to how bottlenecking works (again from what the experts said)

I can get a 2nd hand 6900xt for € 350, and the cheapest 7800xt i can find is € 500,00. The 6900xt has a lot of power consumption and has no warranty, the 7800xt is much newer so will keep being updated in drivers for a longer time, and consumes less and has 2 years warranty. So... 6900XT for a risky cheaper move, or a 7800xt for a safer more future peace of mind. Hard to pick !

what model of 7800xt is this? my 7800xt goes upto 2650mz at 1440p-4k with tdp of 280-300W. Sapphire Nitro model, if this is a weaker model then theres definitely a difference even if its only 10-20%

7800XT is on the face of it a more efficient redux of the 6900XT, there is barely a sheet of paper between them in performance. Much like it was for the R9 290X vs the RX580, damned near identical performance, just more efficient on the wattage with the 580. Ergo as you can find 6900XT's about for cheaper than a 7800XT if you've the power for it it's a better value option, certainly so on the second user market.

nah it isn't , if you use the sapphire nitro+ which boosts upto 2700mhz with tdp of 300w it should match 6900xt easily, he is using like a weaker model which i think is a sapphire pulse version since its only around 246w

@@paulojamesminimoisaac7858 The 6900xt also boosts 2700mhz with the model he owns but he didnt oc/uv it to make it fair, cuz its all silicon lottery when it comes to that. So the difference still remains the same for now, but the 7800xt should close the gap and even get ahead a tiny bit once the drivers mature in a year or so. Thats what happened with the 6900xt anyway, launch drivers were ass but now its amazing. The power draw is also near identical after oc/uv btw, my 6900xt consumes 280-300W at 2650mhz, and the 7800xt seems to hit around 300W at 2600-2700mhz too.
