Thank you! I did play around with mass damper last week but not the Reflex one and also, I didn’t post that in public. Probably wasn’t my video. ;)

Picked up a used rx28 to use in super stock or 3500gt. I've read gear diff is better for stock? If I don't want to spend the $$ on one, how could I get the most out of a ceramic ball diff? Recommendations on what grease to use? Thanks for the content as it's been 15yrs since I ran 1/10 electric on-road

@@ChrisPanton Welcome back to the RC world and in 28th scale! I too just got back into Mini-Z last year after 13 years. I don’t run gear diff on any of my cars. You don’t need to have gear diff. Its up to the drivers preference and I prefer ball differential because less time to fine tune, easier for me to service and no bent shaft! I only use Kyosho shaft for my ball diff: steel or Titanium. I still use a couple of my 20 year old Kyosho steel shaft and its still straight. I switched over to carbide diff balls on all my cars even the 2500KV car. I noticed that with the ceramics and today’s cars (Lipo & Brushless), the diff with ceramics balls would just slip on initial take off. In order to make it grip, you have to tighten the diff more than you would if you’re running steel diff balls. If not tight, it would slip. Its also takes some time to tune the diff with ceramics vs steel. With steel (carbide) diff balls, because you’re not over tightening the diff, you get more runtime before you have to service the pressure plates. The carbide is also heavy and its steel so it has a bit of “flex” or compliant so it grabs on the plates more than ceramic balls would.

@@tjaymacRC thanks for the great insight! Could I use kyosho 30000 gear diff grease in a ball diff?
@tjaymacRC
@tjaymacRC Ай бұрын
@@ChrisPanton You’re welcome. No don’t use that. You’ll have to buy ball diff grease. I just use Team Associated and Kyosho ball diff grease. Can’t tell the difference between the two but definitely not that 30k. Its too sticky.

Could you share the name of the tool or where to get that tool you’re using to remove the wheel nut?

Hi i am using the PN gear diff on the RX28SE G2 and on the rear wheels you are using bearings even on the side were not the diff is. I saw a lot of guys using a spacer of plastics. With the pn diff your axle on the end is thiner then the reflex ones. Right after the threads the reflex one is getting bigger then the pn one. Now i saw in this video that your diameter of the bearings in the rear wheels is different from from left to right. And i think you had the same problem that the wheel is not sitting perfekt with just a normal bearing as a spacer. What inner diameter do i have too use there. And is a bearing essentiall or can i use a plastic spacer?

Hi, In the rear of most, if not ALL mini-z or 1/28th scale R/C the LEFT REAR Motor Mount Bearing is the same size as the RIGHT REAR Motor Mount Bearing. The size is 3x6x2.5mm. Next, the bearings that goes OUTSIDE the REAR wheels. Because I'm running Kyosho Ball Diffs, the LEFT wheel bearing has smaller inner diameter (2x6x2.5mm) while the RIGHT wheel bearing has bigger inner diameter (3x6x2.5mm). Again, this is KYOSHO ball diff. Other brands are using 3x6x2.5mm on both sides. Your PN Gear Diff should be using the same bearings in the Outside wheels which is 3x6x2.5mm.

@@tjaymacRC i would love to show you a picture. the reflex axel of the ball diff is a bit longer then my new pn gear diff axel by 2mm. could it be that it is not supportet for the rx28? And the 3x6x2.5mm bearing has a lot of movement because the axel is just 2mm wide at this point were the bearing sits. Right behind the thread the axel has 2mm.

@@tjaymacRCi just started getting into this hobby. I have ordered the RX28 G2. I really do appreciate for answering my questions in regard to this car. If you are running 3500kv Motor , What motor would you recommend for this car. Same question for the 2500kv and what model. Also, what servo and receiver are you using. Thanks! If you have a video that you list out what to use for the reflex car. Pls link it to me. Again thanks!

@@popitn2nd - Hi and Welcome to Mini Z! Don’t forget to check out my KZbin community page. I have my ESC settings in there as well in case you want that. I only have two videos of the cars I used for West Coast PN Regionals but no parts list. Here are the video links. Super Stock 2500 Car: kzbin.info/www/bejne/o2atdp5upbCXncUsi=EBTdDbsLoBhF0KZb Modified Class Car: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iXSUcnWPib54hassi=_XLMAarCaPtHf6g9 ESC: GL Racing wired Speed Control is what I’m using but their new one is the same except its Bluetooth: www.hobby-addicts.com/products/gl-racing-brushless-sensored-esc-gl-sd-esc-010t Servo: For RX28, I only use Reflex Racing servo: www.hobby-addicts.com/products/reflex-racing-hv-mini-digital-servo-rre007 Motors: I personally like GL Racing motors for 2500-5500kv but we cannot run the 2500 and 3500 motors in our local shop because the GL motors are faster. We are only allowed to run PN 3500 for 3500 class and Rocket 2500 for 2500 class. If your club allows any brand, definitely get GL Racing motors. Here’s where you can find it: www.hobby-addicts.com/products/gl-racing-sensored-brushless-motor Receiver: I have this and some random receivers. I just buy one that’s compatible with my Noble NB4. This one looks like its compatible. Please reach out to Hobby Addicts to confirm: www.hobby-addicts.com/products/flysky-noble-fgr4s-v2-receiver
