Hey what's up everybody. This is Joshua Casper here for plugin boutique and today we're going to talk about the power of module chains in RX7 from iZotope. This is a video tutorial on how to use Module chains, how to set them up and along the way learn a bit about the breath control, de-ess, de-plosive, mouth de-click and eq modules and also toss in how to load and use third-party VSTs in the RX standalone. All that in more. So, let's get started.
About Module Chiains
The Module Chain is designed to facilitate quick, simple editing, and speed up the workflow of anyone who finds themselves performing the same editing tasks again and again. Module Chain is able to load and save custom processing chains incorporating multiple processing modules, including multiple instances of the same module. You can then select a saved processing chain and fire if off with a single click. This is especially useful if you find yourself repeatedly applying the same modules with the same or similar settings in sequence. Module Chain ships with many presets to help get you up and running.
About Breath Control
The Breath Control module intelligently detects breaths in dialogue or vocal recordings and suppresses them. Removing and reducing breaths in recordings can be a time-consuming process for dialogue editors and music producers alike. Breath Control can help reduce the time spent on repetitive editing without sacrificing the quality of your dialogue or vocal recordings.
About De-Ess
The De-ess audio plug-in and module in iZotope RX 7 attenuates or reduces sibilance, the harsh high-frequency sounds that come from S, F, X, SH, and a soft C. RX 7 includes two modes for handling sibilance: Classic and Spectral. Classic Mode detects sibilants and attenuates them with a broadband gain envelope. Spectral Mode is more transparent, intelligent, and frequency-specific than Classic Mode. Spectral Mode only attenuates the high frequencies where sibilance is most active, leaving the lower frequencies untouched.
About De-Plosive
Quickly remove plosives with the De-plosive audio plug-in and module in iZotope RX 7. Improve the quality of your dialogue by getting rid of plosive pops and mic bumps that can occur during a recording. Intelligent analysis detects the presence of a plosive between the desirable harmonics of a dialogue or vocal signal. It then transparently reduces the plosive far more effectively than simply using an EQ to roll off the low end (which lacks precision and also affects dialogue frequencies).
About Mouth De-Click
The Mouth De-click audio plug-in and module in iZotope RX 7 is a de-clicker that is finely tuned to detect and reduce mouth noises such as clicks and lip smacks. It's designed for use on longer audio selections, but it can be used to remove individual clicks.

That's very helpful! Do you happen to know if there is a way to add to a chain a module like spectral de-noise? For some reasons I prefer spectral de-noise over voice de-noise. So I usually leave about 15-20 seconds of complete silence at the beginning of my recordings to capture a noise profile. The problem is can't figure out how to add the "Learn" step into my chain.

De.plosive is really good, for mouth click I just cut the beginning of vocals before I start speaking

I may have missed it. Can you take the module chain you create and make it a preset, capturing all the settings for the included modules? All I saw in your module chain was "default."

I have RX7 I have a weekly 2-3 hour recording. I usually edit 3 files at once. Do you know of any way to speed up the processing of the module chain? I'm thinking to use my i7 3770k graphics chip or my nVidia card to accelerate.
