Ford won his races when he began because he had a more reliable engine. Today, it is about both reliability and performance. Why do people believe an engine that has to work harder will be better? The rotary may have bad thermal efficiency, but the power to weight ratio and it's compact size make it ideal for both racing and aircraft implementation. Society is slow to follow and mazda never capitalized on their lemans win like porche has been doing. Imagine had mazda advertised the crap out of the rotary and gave the option for a rotary on their miata. I don't want another rx car, i want the mx5 to get a tri-turbo 20b, be called the msp-x5, given a more aggressive body kit for aero, wider tires, and be sold worldwide. Fuck fuel crisis, dodge wants to play hellcat/demon, I'd love to see Mazda bring in hellcat killer in the form of a roadster.

Mazda won because they complain everyone else was too powerful the 787b ran with no weight penalties while others broke from adding ballast.

Wankel engines are too unreliable for aircraft and automotive applications.. That's why they are obsolete technology today. Even Mazda dropped the Wankel like a bad habit over a decade ago.

There’s no way that RX8 had the renesis engine in there.. if it’s rotary it is a 20b or an LS swap.

Jimmy Tran It’s either a 13B or a 20B. LS engines don’t have an exhaust note like that.

#RideLife An LS is a V8 engine. A 20B is a 3-rotour engine. You cannot have a Rotary LS because the LS is a piston engine.

Uhhhh jimmy.....why not a Renesis? Also, you understand a 20b is likely from a cosmo, right? Either that or they made one themselves (seen it done plenty), but that's a rotary, bud. Listen to it scream past the Pontiac. Look at it spit fire everytime he downshifts. That's a rotary :D
