I'm 75 and and been listening to quality Rock and Roll, Blues, Jazz and Folk music since the late 50s. Ry's influence is woven into loads of the music. Some of it I knew while some I discovered later. I bought Buena Vista Social Club the day I saw it. I see your point but I see some hope as well. Playing For Change helps me keep hopeful for the future. My daughter and grands started life with an of appreciation great music too. There are some excellent foreign bands from Europe and Japan. Nightwish is Rock as fine art. There are a host of good to great cover band around as well, imy2 and First Two Eleven cover many genres between them. My fav of the past week is Little Heartbreak Girl by Beth Hart. I just noticed your comment is 2 years old. Oh well.

We do now, put copper in your drinking water, or a silver coin. It will keep you well & help you rise in Density!! Any Questions? 😂

March '86, far from TX (Warsaw, Poland), fresh new movie "Paris Texas". I've never heard music during watching the movie but not that time. People were leaving the hall. I stayed to read who wrote and played the music. Minimalistic, concentrated, moody extract from the blues. 35 years with Ry Cooder. It is much easier to live, to survive, no matter what goes on. Thanks, Ry

Ryland's been my favorite blues, soul, funk, roots, string and slide player since I was 19 yo. Saw him at Chateau Liberté in the Santa Cruz mountains, by himself, almost close enough to be in our laps, as the usual suspects at that biker bar threw insults and epithets from the back. He gave us an incredible show, unruffled pro in '73. 👍

Ry Cooder. A national treasure. Hell, he's a cultural heritage monument. Not only a world-class player but an exceptional band-leader. His bands _always_ have the best-in-class musicians, man. I can't imagine changing anyone in this lineup for letting les bon temps rouler in NOLA. (well...maybe one...does anyone believe LK when he sings "i works on the levee night and day"? didn't think so) edit to add: this is the first time since 2005 that i've thought of the Katrina tragedy-slash-epic-government-FAIL without cussing everyone in authority for the rest of the day. only music can do that.
