Best songwriter I've heard. I've heard versions, of this song & liked them, but after picking one after another of his, discovering the most original songwriter & musician I've heard, well a devoted Ryan Adams fan was just born tonite. By the way I've seen and heard a lot great musicians but this Ryan guy just jumped ahead of artists I love & at 62 yrs. alive & 50 yes as a guitar player that loves music & performers with that class & style & soul & to be that complete at 40, mr. Adams you are something, I can't find a song yet that doesn't impress me or style, I'm a guy that didn't get stuck in the 60's or any other decade's music too, I like it all, I had an slogan for a Radio station I dreamed of having that their motto: ALL THE HITS, NONE OF THE TIME would get listeners that really likes music, the songs between the hits, so I'm glad that I met your songs tonight, I am flat knocked out how good & how many songs that won't let new or old fans down , I love your music & want to hear it all.

It makes me shiver every time. It gets to me. Ryan Adams gets to me, in all his heartbreaking and beautiful honesty. No one compares to him, and no one gets close to his musical genius, so why bother arguing about which version is better? Ryan'll always win in the end!

i have to admit that the first time i heard this song was on "one tree hill", but once i youtubed the original by ryan adams, there is no other version for me. this is definitely one of the best songs of the 2000s and no tim mcgraw or bono can do it better than the songwriter himself.

my, Now, wife chose to walk down the isles to this song. But, it HAD TO BE the Adams Casal version. This Song captured every essence of the of the moment. Hands Down, this version of "When The Stars Go Blue" is the absolute best. An Adams/Casal duet at its finest. Thanks for the Memories Guys.

Greatest singer/songwriter of our time and sadly reminds me of what Gram Parsons might have accomplished if he had respected his gift and was dedicated to his craft in the way that Ryan is. And just to imagine what a Gram Parsons' rendition of this beautiful song might've sounded like is enough to put a smile on your face all day, (or night.)

@Jaxton98 this is Ryan Adams original that Tim covered. theres a funny bit on a Yahoo performance where after the band finished playing the song, Ryan says, "I wrote that song. ME! It made a ton o' cash and paid for my pool made of Unicorn bones." Gotta love him. But yes, Ryan did write the song, and yes he made a shit ton of money letting other artists cover it (Tim, the Corrs, etc...).
@dpswan14 жыл бұрын

First, it's pretty weird to think that the guy who wrote it wasn't 'meant' to sing it. Second, Ryan Adams absolutely qualifies as a country singer. That label is actually too limiting for him. He's a brilliant singer/songwriter with a penchant for folk/traditional/country. Just listen to Jacksonville City Nights or Heartbreaker. I don't really mean that as a challenge. I just really hope you do because I'll bet you'll like it.
