@@ristonsanchez1014 We saw an old, out of shape Ray Mercer kill Tim Sylvia, a former UFC champ. So, there is that. There are also quite a lot of "pure strikers" that are in MMA. Most come from Muay Thai or kick boxing, though. Rafael Fiziev is basically a pure Muay Thai fighter. Doesn't really throw too many leg kicks. Doesn't EVER take down. He's a blue belt in BJJ and I know Garcia has been training in BJJ for many years. Fiziev has had a pretty successful career, so far. People are delusional to think a young boxer couldn't do okay in UFC, in my opinion. And I watch 100 times more UFC than boxing. Not a huge fan of boxers, but damn, I'm not that biased lol

People forget or ain't old enough to remember the first UFC, boxer's were the revered and respected REAL fighters they only didn't have grappling knowledge, but after Royce showed how potent grappling was, boxer's back then started adding grappling and were the early pioneers of MMA and many champions to this day started off as boxer's before becoming MMA champions.
