May take is Bill Haney is a genius. He took his average son, and by managing his fights and his image made him look like he was something special when he has never been anything special, if you watched the Ryan Garcia tank Davis fight, you would know the Ryan Garcia is no easy touch and he comes to fight, also watch the Ryan Garcia tank, Davis fight and look at how skinny Ryan Garcia is had he not agreed to fight at 1:36 and even worse agreed to the rehydration clause that could’ve been a different fight. I think Davis is superior boxing skills And natural power would’ve still won the day. Ryan Garcia buzzed tank Davis tank Davis picked Ryan Garcia to win the fight against Amy Tank Davis says that Ryan Garcia is the hardest puncher he has ever been in the ring with, I think it’s almost impossible to overlook that, along with Heaney being nothing special other than the judges, giving Heaney the fight Ryan Garcia was going to win. He outsmarted the Heaney’s every way possible.

Ref saved Haney multiple times this fight, round 7 should have had at least a second knockdown. Haney essentially just took a knee but wasnt punished for it, Haney was shooting double legs. If a person does that in a normal random undercard it's a TKO. Ryan Is incredibly talented a problem for anyone in the division, funniest and most exiting thing to happen in boxing for a while. ryans defense improved, he used footwork, he was patient, and countered his way to a decision against arguably one of the pound for pound best fighters

Haney should have been counted out tbh. He was face down on the canvas desperately trying to push himself up with his elbow. The ref gave him around 600 years to recover. Slowest 8 count ever. Turns round to tell Garcia to step back (he’s already at the other side of the ring). Turns back to Haney to ask him to marry him or some shit. Was so fkn bad

I was flat out proven wrong as well. Totally agree on a new corner for Haney but for a second reason to yours as well: that fight should have been stopped. Haney took way too much unnecessary punishment in that fight. By throwing him back out there again and again like that, and the ref not calling multiple knockdowns (lets be real it was at least FIVE knockdowns and it was a serious beating), Haney's fame-thirsty dad sacrificed years off Haney's career. If Haney wasn't chinny already - he will be now. Taking one solid left hook from Ryan is an easy concussion. Taking that many? Brutal. Haney needs his clueless dad to GTFO not just because he has no relevant useful advice - but for his safety.

Im not gonna say I knew ahead of time that Ryan would've won, but I knew people were counting him out way to early. Ryan is fast and has powerful hooks and Haney does not have any power that can make Ryan really respect him like Gervonta did and definitely not enough to put him away, so Haney would've need to put on a masterclass skill in technical boxing to keep Ryan off of him. Unfortunately, he couldn't do it.

Break the fight down by round and it was a close fight. R1 was Ryan’s and then R2-R5 were Haney’s. R6 could’ve gone either way. So halfway through the fight it’s either 59-55 or 58-56 in favour of Haney. The last half of the fight were two 10-8 rounds to Ryan, one 9-8 to Ryan (questionable point deduction). R8 to Haney and either way in R9 and R12. Leaving a final scorecard ranging from 113-111 in favour of Haney to 114-110 in favour of Ryan. I agree that Ryan deserved the decision but the 115-109 is more outrageous than the 112-112 given the amount of obvious rounds Ryan didn’t win by doing nothing.

Garcia won 4 rounds at best. With three knockdowns, that's 7 points. Makes the fight 7-5 All of the advantage he gave himself, basically cheated by deliberatelyissimg weight just to go out and blast someone he knows has to really boil down to get to the weight. This isn't a good win in any way. No belt, missed weight deliberately... He's no further forward in the sport. Safe to say he's just doing it for the money because he knows he'll never hold a title

Definitely a big shock, I thought Garcia had no chance. While I still think Haney is probably more skilled, that's not all that goes into a fight, I think Haney has shown signs of vulnerability in the past, which myself and others overlooked. While I definitely think that I underestimated Ryan after his loss to Tank, I actually think Haney's stock falls more than Garcia's rises after this, I think Haney likely drops out of any pound-for-pound discussions and I don't think Garcia takes his place. I still think Garcia's behaviour in the leadup to this is concerning and I think coming in so overweight shows a lack of professionalism - while this will give his career a huge shot in the arm I still don't think he's a secret genius and has this all figured out - if he continues this way and continues to fight strong opposition I still think the record will be set straight in the end.

Meanwhile, the Talking Heads for the Big Name publications are saying "Nobody outside of Garcias fandom cudda predicted that outcome." Which may be true, but they ain't also saying they "Don't know shit about Boxing" either. Big Props to Rummy, his Honesty, and his Coverage! 🍻

I'd love to see Haney join Robert Garcia. Imagine the sparring he'd be getting in his camp.

Love the fact you always make your predictions knowing how difficult boxing can be. Awesome keep up the great work. As most of us don’t know shit about boxing. Fury by late stoppage for me with Usyk.

You're not alone. Me, you and everyone else that picked Devin to win didn't know shit about boxing that night. Love the content, Ryan did his thing, props and respect to both for even getting in the ring. No need for an immediate rematch though. Too one sided.

3 pounds is nothing when you have the ref and a judge on your side

I knew Ryan had power but his speed is crazy. I had to slow some of the highlights WAYYY down to even see some of the shots Ryan caught Haney with.

I have to admit that I drastically underestimated Garcia. This was the kind of career-defining fights that stellar pound-for-pound fighters make in their career. Very impressive.

One thing I do know about boxing is that if your opponent is several pounds heavier at weigh in, even with rehydration, he will be stronger than you. And if you are not a particularly strong puncher but your opponent is, that advantage will allow him to walk straight through your punches. So the lesson is this: never accept a fight with a heavier opponent who is known for his power punches even if he is willing to pay shit loads of money for the advantage.

How about that judge who failed to score the fight correctly, and thought it was a draw...baffling.

Hiya Rummy; was wondering what you thought of the "decision" in the co-main between McComb and Barboza (I'm hoping they kissed McComb first!).

People making the argument about missing weight is ridiculous. Imagine losing a fight and telling your boys it was because the other guy was 3lbs heavier.

That can make a huge differennce in these lower weights, but I don't think that's the reason Haney lost, especially since he blows up in weight after the weigh-in too. Both guys were middleweights at fight time.

Never bet on a pure boxer with no power and no chin.

People always saying he has no chin, yet this was literally the first time he's been knocked down. He's shown good recovery skills up to this point.
