Sinisterage ld50 was the one album i listened to religiously. I like their other albums but alot of emotion was in ld50. Wish they still stayed that style.

Cliff Burton's lines are certainly hard to get down but they pale in comparison to Ryan's. For example, compare Master of Puppets, widely considered an extremely hard bass line to something like Death Blooms. Ryan is genuinley a nuts player.

There are tons of bass players with way more advanced techniques. Not that technique is everything. Just saying...

I've watched this clip over a dozen times and every time not only does it blow me away at how beautiful and powerful it is, but I notice something else that he does. At the end I just realized that he's tapping chords, then bending two different non-adjacent strings which I didn't even know your hands can do.

Ryan Martinie was actually the bassist that got me into the bass. i remember i used to love the band Mudvayne back in middle school and i remember seeing him play and listening to the bass lines thinking "woah so cool!" a few more months later my dad takes me to guitar center and i end up in the bass room and he asks if i want a bass. been playing ever since (although i should practice more). its so nice to see Ryan on this channel always cool to watch his technique!

Ryan Martinie in my book of musicians is by far one thee most creative and inspirational bass players these days, hands down... Im always blown away how he infuses hard hitting JAZZ-FUSION thumb and finger slaps/tapped bass lines/riffs/chords into MATH-METAL*. When I got lost in the debut of MudvAynes L.D 50 album, I knew this guy had something special that not many bass players can deliver. He’s got to be up there with Jaco Pastorious.

1:25 he feels that heart rate increase. Bass, Drums, Guitar, etc. Anyone who can actually play in the music world knows that feeling when you're just absolutely killing it and are aware of what's happening. You can perfectly practice the same plays for 10yrs straight and fuck up the moment a camera of any sort comes into perimeter lol. He was on one of those days where the energy is perfect. You can see at the end where it brought him pure joy to pull that off.

Last Year I came across this vid around this time. My son was about 3 months old, But when I played this he got so quiet and as it was over he started to cry! I think this is dope because this is the same guy who looked like satan in "dig". Now this song serves as my sons soothing melody. He's 1 now. Thanks Ryan!! The kid loves music!!

When I heard "Dig" the first time many years ago, that opening bass line blew me away. Really talented player, he has a very original and unique sound which gave Mudvayne a different flavour to other metal bands of that era. One of my favorite bass players of all time.

I met Ryan, a long time ago... at the House of Blues, in Myrtle Beach. In fact, it was so long ago... they were the opening act at the time!! You could never have told me any different, that these guys, wasn't on their way to the top! I was totally blown away...by Mudvayne, and really impressed... with Ryan's playing. Anyways... Ryan,is a really nice guy... and phenom of a player. I always come back to this video, to hear this lick....something very awesome, about this whole vibe! This is some serious shit, going down here!
