Ryan's writing for Glee was solid the first 3 seasons, then he (and his fellow writers) got sloppy starting in season 4 and it all completely fell apart by season 6. I stayed on as a diehard Glee fan, but many fans faded away due to the odd writing that started to happen. Now I'm hesitant to get into any new show of his for fear the same will happen again.

bluedance lilly Ryan's writing on Glee was typical of style. Have you seen any of his past shows. Things were already going downhill during the 3rd season. Also, Murphy wanted to write the kids going to college (more mature themes) and bring on new kids essentially having two shows but lost that battle and settled for the compromise that was Season 4. He also began focusing more on other projects so Glee slipped further down his priority list. Sad but true.

Well Feud is really more a miniseries. It's very tightly plotted with no filler. And it's only "one season" (the second season will be a completely different story with, most likely, a different cast). I think both the OJ Series, Feud, and some select seasons of AHS are all great.

The writing was very very very sloppy after season 4 (due to having to change the whole season after Cory died) but it really should've ended with season 5 because it was already on a fine line. Season 6 shouldve never happened in my opinion. I still cringe when I watch it at times.

There's so much truth to what Ryan points out about feuds involving male actors not making headlines the way they do when it comes to women. That said, I do feel like he was deflecting in order to avoid talking about Lea who, as most people here know by now, was far from nice to many of her fellow cast members. I'll always have so much respect towards Naya for daring to be the first one to step up and bring this issue to light, in spite of knowing the amount of backlash she would face.

Do you have a favorite memory of Cory Monteith?He really was the big brother I never had. I have to say - I hope I don’t get emotional - I always felt so respected by Cory, and I think being a young gay kid, I’ve never really felt respected very much by older straight types, I guess. But with Cory, I think we just respected each other so much and we respected working with each other so much. I think that’s what I’ll always remember - the abundant respect that he gave everyone. But Darren was at Chris' premier of SBL to support him and lookout the Interviews they did... especially after the last season, they were laughing all the time, saying they were friends. And when they filmed white Christmas and Darren filmed Chris, it looks so natural and not played. Also the tweets between the two of them were really friendly, so I think they are really friends :) I think there was more of a problem with Mark Selling. David --- Not true about Chris and Darren.. I have followed them closely and they always said they were good friends. But when Klaine first began, there were a lot of people thinking they were (or would make) a good couple in real life and their fandom made a big deal about that. So they tried to distance themselves from hanging out so as to end those stupid rumors. So then fans went the other way - claiming just because they weren't always together, they must not like each other. But they are friends and have always gotten along. See them together in interviews and listen to their stories.

My guess this was after season 3 that all the disharmony started. If you listen to Naya's book they all loved each other partied together got along . SO when Ryan talks he is referring to all 6 yrs. A lot of people are talking about how season 4 of glee had sloppy writing after and you guys have to realize that this isn’t Ryan’s fault, he wasn’t the only writer and some writers were added and they didn’t all agree with his ideas. (Such as having the show split into essentially two shows, one about their college life, and one about new kids in Glee) instead he had to compromise. Hence the noticeable sloppy writing of season 4. (Personally though i still really liked season 4, it was season 5 and after I had problems with, some songs in season 5 were still good though, but season 6 was actual trash). I feel like if Ryan was able to do what he wanted, it would’ve gone way better, and have a better ending. (Still wouldn’t be really much of a good ending though since plans would still have gotten ruined due to Corey’s death, RIP)

I'm sure he meant that ”Glee” threw them into unexpected stardom almost overnight. You could have been acting for 50 years without getting that big break that makes you world-famous. So even though Naya, for example, started acting around 4 years of age, she didn't become super famous until she got her part on ”Glee”. The same goes for many of the others as well; even if they had acted before and even if some of them were moderately famous, ”Glee” still took it to a new level. And when you start out on a new TV show you don't know ahead of time how successful it will be. It wasn't until the first episode of the show actually aired on television and it became an instant hit that they suddenly found themselves being super famous. No matter how old you are, it must be an adjustment to go from a relatively normal life to the life of a celebrity being chased by paparazzi more or less over night. And most of the cast was very young when the show first started. Lea, Dianna, Amber and Jenna were all 23, Naya and Heather were 22, and Kevin was 21. That is still really young; at that age you've just barely left your teen years. And Chris was only 19.

Ryan has amazing shows but he fucked glee over to work on the other ones and then the writing got crappy and the ideas were so bad it was just "throw in another couple" "throw in another fight" "throw in another breakup" when they could have done soooo much more I think they should have abandoned the glee club after season 3 they won nationals it was over or maybe ended the show and after season three cut Mathew Morrison his character was just so bland after a while god a fan could have directed that better than the new directors could have

Ryan gaslighted everyone in the show to make them be their character's narrative. I remember he enable Lea to control everyone and be difficult on the set bec that was a Rachel Berry be like, well a little less bitchy. And I remember this script Naya as santana in a an argument scene with chris colfer as kurt which is basically a direct and personal tirade against the actor's insecurities and it was really awful and Naya even admitted regretting doing that scene. He created that toxic environment in glee so that he can build drama in the show. Glee was cursed and can't believe three of its main characters died young. Some has issues like Melissa Benoist and Blake. But atleast most of them remained friends except from Lea Michele which was obviously everyone hated.

Ryan Murphy...the first time I'm hearing your views. Glee is an enjoyable show but not a old Hollywood based series in anyway. Its got a songbook from.old Hollywood abd that's what it focuses on. Ypur favoritism of certain cast members and condemning their behaviour while everyone else suffers is UNACCEPTABLE. Maybe if you hadn't overendulged and allowed Michele to behave that way I would be less ruthless.
