Thank you Tash! Ryan is one of the world's good guys. He supports Canada every chance he gets. And yes, he supports all those charities listed. His Deadpool movies were filmed here (mostly Vancouver, and one in my city of Victoria) and he even placed Canadian wine in some scenes. I tear up every time I watch this video. People who work with him say he's genuinely funny and kind. He's a class act. I'm so happy you reacted to this, it made my weekend. 🥰

One person I think deserves a video is Micheal J Fox. In the 70’s and 80’s, there were very few “ big “ Canadian stars known in the USA. Micheal is one of the first group that was not shy to say they were Canadian. John Candy, and Alex Trebex ( former Host of Jeopardy), William Shatner and Celine Dion were some others. There are videos of generations of Canadians who made it big! Very often they are assumed to be American, because they live there, but they were born in Canada! Stay safe,stay sane, stay strong Ukraine 🇺🇦

Canada sure does love Ryan. He is a stellar ambassador even if he doesn't officially have that title. He lives in the States, but is always donating to causes here and not only that, he also gets other celebrities he knows to do it. The food banks alone have benefited so much, and he got American celebs to also donate to them, which is pretty awesome in my books. A stellar guy and Steven Page knocked the song out of the ballpark too. I mean... what more endorsement does he need? He got endorsed by The Shat.

A couple of years ago, a woman here in Vancouver was moving and someone stole a teddy bear she had that contained an audio recording of messages from her deceased mother - "I love you", etc... Ryan heard about this and sent out a tweet offering a reward for the bear's return. (And it was returned.)

The white bear you saw is called a spirit bear by the Indigenous people here; it's an albino bear of the North American black bear species. Yes, Ryan quietly gives to all of those charities listed. Reconciliation Canada is a movement to help us come to terms with and face the appalling way white Canadians have treated Indigenous people (especially children taken to residential schools; lots of unmarked graves being found now) for the past 100 years. It's tragic.

You may already know this, but there is an organization out of Ottawa called N'we Jinan. They travel to First Nations communities across Canada and work with the youth to create music videos written and performed by the youth. The genre is primarily rap, which I'm not a fan of, but I'm a HUGE fan of the passion, talent and message of these young people. It's all about inspiring hope.

BEAUTIFUL TRIBUTE TO THE SON OF BURT REYNOLDS. WE LOVE YOU RYAN, ALL OF US IN CANADA.
@michaeljamesstewart1000 Жыл бұрын
Ryan Reynolds is the perfect ambassador to the world for Canada. He projects the qualities and attributes each Canadian strives to attain. Stephen Page, and all the wonderful people who put their hearts and souls into making the video tribute truly exemplify the spirit and unstinting generosity of not only Ryan Reynolds but all Canadians. From our earliest days, Canada has challenged its people and the people from the beginning have faced those challenges and shone through. People such as Tash, who take the time to learn about us, as a people and a country, see and feel those qualities. Those, from outside, who don't and merely lump us in with others, miss knowing a unique, talented, generous and quietly proud group of people called Canadians. Chimo. PS: For those who don't know, Chimo is a greeting/salutation in the Inuktitut language [Northern Canada] meaning hello, goodbye and cheers and is akin to ciao or aloha.
@dougwilson4537 Жыл бұрын
I think you made the perfect comment, that these are 'qualities and attributes' that we Strive to Attain. I think, as Canadians, we are pretty good, but we Know we can do Better, and I believe that we try to do better. We're not perfect, but we're never going to stop trying to be. 😊 Cheers! (or maybe I should start saying Chimo!)🥰
@michaeljamesstewart1000 Жыл бұрын
@@dougwilson4537 How kind and thoughtful of you to take the time to read my comment and respond with your own. You have written what I constantly state. We should never stop trying to make our country even better. After all, the national anthem implores us to 'stand on guard'. I had the privilege of being born in Canada and lived here (with a few years in other countries for work) since mid-WWII and found joy in watching Canada really blossom. From the first moment, Europeans stepped on this land, we discovered that by helping each other we help ourselves. Each new wave of immigrants realised what Canada was about and worked hard to add to it. As you said, we don't always succeed but at least we are trying. We have created a very unique experiment in social living and of that I am proud as obviously are you. Chimo

@@pjperdue1293 well this is a rumour going around, he definitely has the funds to do it, he just sold his company, some tech company I think, but he did very well on that sale. I think alot of people would start to show support for the Sens if he buys them, cause ya they're a good young hockey team, I think have alot of the young talent signed for a at least a few years, and they have the $$$ and cap room to go after those pricey free agents, but they will keep getting better and better, cause it seems like they have someone that actually knows the game of hockey and is able to spot the talent and then work out the business side of things with contracts, but yeah if he buys them it will definitely create a buzz around the Senators, it should be interesting.
