that's what I thought at first but they made clear that Ironmans Repulsors COULD make thanos(with 4 gems) bleed, admittedly that bit happens AFTER the gauntlet pull stuff, but all those attacks from strange, drax and ironman were never meant to hit and so didn't, but had iron man made a couple of detachable vibra-blades, give one to spidy, one to drax with the clear instruction's: put EVERYTHING into one swing. It took 3 or 4 smacks to the face to wake him with star lords punch's, drax and spidy could do it easily. alternatively dr strange could have done the EXACT same teleport-limb- cut off tony SAW wong pull off in that same movie. Its narrative convenience, the characters NEEDED to act stupid other wise it would have just ended. Don't get me wrong, I DO love Infinity war, but it was reliant on getting caught in the moment, hence why the funniest scene in the movie is the overly dramatic slowmo vision death scene that was pure, unfiltered, false tension.

jakobthedragonboy I thought the same thing about strange portal but someone said it wouldn't work because thanos has the space stone. Even though they made it clear that the stones aren't activated till he closes his hand so it should still work. Which is how the witch was able to hold him back when he didn't close his fist and thor was able to damage him. But yeah I agree its all for convenience of the movie. Let's not get started how vision was getting destroyed by the dark order but black widow went toe to toe.
