How ever in the National League the growing number of clubs that have been in the EFL prior to being in the daldrum of non league football is concerning. Oldham are a former Premier League club and are in the National League. 4 teams go up from league 2 whilst only 2 go down. This needs to be addressed cause as we have seen this season, Wrexham and notts county have been by far the best teams in that division yet notts county may possibly miss out. Well we've been as high as the championship in the late 70's early 80's and that's only one promotion from the premiership. It's possibly the infrastructure that takes longer to build the kop won't be open until season after next if we go up next season, immediately they are gonna have to look at further ground capacity and so playing catch up again. A training ground is still in the pipeline and will need to have room for future proofing. I think we could well get out of League 2 within 2 seasons. League one top end I'd say is around our level, getting promoted to the championship would mean then playing against some very big teams. If we got there and could hold our own, that would be amazing ... Just one promotion then from the holy grail. We dare to dream

But yeah to the previous person's point, I don't think them going all the way is crazy. I think this team would be immediately competitive with the top of League Two as it sits right now. Once they get to League One, I think there'd have to be more significant changes and by the Championship I think they'd need additional investment. But it's absolutely possible. Weren't Leicester in League One or something like 10-15 years ago?

That area will now be funded from the league, whereas in the national League the club's have to fund them themselves and young players can be poached for no fee. It's why this area of the club fell behind under fan ownership, as much was going into the first team to try and be competitive.
@brianeleighton Жыл бұрын
@@paulsmith7051 The League doesn't actually fund the Academies of the various clubs in the pyramid. The Football League does provide money to the clubs but it is for their share of broadcast rights and merchandising as well as the payment given by the Premier League for a share of its broadcast deal. Clubs are responsible for funding their own Academies but you are right on the second point. A league club can poach any talented youngster from a non-league club for zero fee. For a fan owned club with limited resources it made absolutely zero sense to maintain their Academy infrastructure because any player with talent would get stolen for free.

The passion which Ryan Reynolds talk about this game is exactly what football is about. It’s just incredible. Well done.

As a Swansea supporter i wanna say congrats Wrexham! Youve got yourself a pair of proper good boyos there. LFG! See you on the pitch in a few seasons!

These guys and Humphrey Ker have to be applauded. The town must be just gob smacked that this has happened. Just brilliant stuff. 👏

I’m a 🍒 🍒 supporter, since 1966, we were always hovering around the lower leagues and nearly disappeared from existence. Now the club is looking forward to another year in the Premiership. It can be done with the right people. R&R are certainly the right ones. Look forward to seeing Wrexham there.

Essentially, this is about community development. Both Rob and Ryan appear to understand this, that the community, it’s people, it’s leadership, must direct and determine the goals and direction of the town and football club. Not too actors from LA! Well done to Wrexham. This is such a story of hope. 🐑🐑🇳🇿🇳🇿NZ

Not a Wrexham fan, but I what those two have done for the club is incredible, and to do it with such amazing humility too - not once did they say "we" did it, its always "they" did it like it was nothing to do with them..... I hope I see you playing at Villa Park in a league match one day.....

Every interview on Ryan & Rob seems like a Good Morning Show. They are so entertaining even when they talk.

Congratulations Wrexham on the promotion! Now since the team is League Two, ESPN+ in the United States has the rights to EFL League Two so that means I can watch at home now. Yay!

Welsh people have worked very hard to preserve the language over the centuries. Thankfully it's a lot easier to do that now than it used to be.

Some PL clubs don't have the Global reach Wrexham have. All just by having Ryan Reynolds as an owner. Absolute genius move from a business perspective 👏
@zeroconnection Жыл бұрын
Next year Wrexham won't be the wealthiest club in the championship. But in terms of sponsorship. They have an edge over other clubs.
@arransadventures7319 Жыл бұрын
@@zeroconnection would be hard for them to be the wealthiest championship club when they're playing in league 2 I suppose
@zeroconnection Жыл бұрын
@@arransadventures7319 Ryan Reynolds and rob mcElhenney have to complete against billionaires. QPR Tony Fernandes is worth 10 billion. The two saving graces that Wrexham have. Is that not every billionaire is emotional invested in the on field success of their club. And as mentioned before the sponsorship pull of Ryan Reynolds.
@arransadventures7319 Жыл бұрын
@@zeroconnection aye once they eventually reach the championship that Will come into play will be another season or two before he faces QPR anyway. Therefore your point about not having the biggest budget next year is moot since they won't be in that league anyway. I'd imagine by the time they reach the championship some investment firm will come on Board. Ryan himself isn't far off being a billionaire hes got 610 million for his stake in Aviation Gin and 280 million for mint mobile. Add in 50 mil a movie he probably is a billionaire in fact.

They’ll get another invested eventually, someone who knows their football and, clearly, loaded

Wherever this goes it has been a very beautiful story for everyone, the winner are the fans, football and Wrexham. Lots of luck in the next season but no matter what happens they are all winners already.

The fact that these two can tell a story about a fifth tier club in a manner that gets people around the globe this invested in it is incredible. So how does someone in the US watch EFL2? I’m along for this journey.

What Ryan and Rob have done is amazing and such a breath of fresh air. I for one would love to see them in the premier league in 3 years time Go Rob and Ryan Go Wrexham. You guys are legends.

Enjoyed welcome to Wrexham - didn't think it would become so popular how brave - can only put focus on bottom teams and hopefully some investment- and if anyone thinking about this have a look at Banbury
