I think you were lucky to find one of such superior quality and tuning - they all have plastic reed blocks now, with paper reed vanes, and are tuned sketchily. They can still be made as playable as this, but not without some work.

A few things to consider: you can double the bellows size just by splicing one to another. Not a very hard thing to do - there's a sort of wooden ring at one end that it's glued to, that the bare end of the 'donor' bellows will attach nicely to. The other is to use a little saddle soap or dubbin on the leather corners - it makes the bellows more compliant and stops the rattling and rustling. I haven't checked this idea out with anyone else, but I don't think you can harm anything with saddlesoap

Ryan, thanks again for posting this. I almost bought the button accordion, but after seeing this video is have to get the key accordion. If Keith Emerson likes playing the accordion, then it's cool enough for me. Besides that, what a party instrument! Try taking one into a bar and playing it. You'll be surprised how the best looking babes in the place will be drawn to you like a magnet.

brand? model? I want one! Just to play around on and have something to play like this that doesnt need bateries or electricity/wifi to use. Never owned a real one, but too broke to aford a nice full size one. Something like this would be nice to take on trips with me and I was considering one of those hohner melodicas or something like this

Look for one on Ebay. The brand name is "Hero." Mine has piano type keys rather than buttons. New ones may not be made any more. I like the idea of a previous poster, murfleblurg, to enlarge the bellows size. Thats because It requires extra effort to get enough air flow with the single small bellows when playing fast tunes. Luckily I have strong shoulders and can do it with the stock accordion. Keep in mind that this is really just a toy, and will probably not stand up long to constant playing. That being said, I think that it sounds really good, as you can hear in the video.

Thanks for the comment. Its completely original. I'm not sure why the reeds sound so good. Maybe the toy company that made it used real accordion reeds.
