This is so good to see. Back in 2005 I was cabin crew for Ryanair and it was completely different. We had 5 days on 2 days off then 5 days on 3 days off. We had the early shift pattern that meant being in the airport for 4;30am and then we had the late pattern which usually ended between 11pm and 12.00am . We were averaging 60 hours working a week. I know things got so much better since and its great to see that Cabin crew are much better treated now. Thank you again so much for this video

On the first day of Training you can swap with one of your coursemates if they happen to have the base you want. Then, on the first day of paid work / first day online at your base you can request a transfer. That is how I remember the procedure. Luton, Southend & Stanstead London airports are supposed to be easy bases to get because apparently nobody wants to go there (people prefer spain and other mediterranean countries). Even if you don't get the base you want at the start, you can always keep requesting a base transfer and they are likely to consider it if you have a 'clean record' (not lates, no no-shows, no grooming discrepancies etc). Hope this answer helps 😊

Hey, Tabitha! Do you have a video about the types of hirings with Ryanair, permanent, contract or temporary? Also I've heard something about cabin crews being outsourced by a company that works with Ryanair and the salary dicrease, because they take "their part" of it. Could you explain more about that? Is it true? Beside that, In the other video that you were comparing Ryanair with British Airways, telling about the assessment day and training, does Ryanair helps with the costs? For example, you said you were based in an airport at Berlin, but it's supposed to be another, did they help you with accomodations? To finish, Just for curiosity: do you live alone or with other cabin crews? Trying to join Ryanair, but many doubts are jumping in my mind. Haha thank you for your collaboration.
@TabithaLaker
@TabithaLaker 3 жыл бұрын
No sorry I don't have a video about temp vs permanent. I think Ryanair has multiple Irish companies that they operate under.. I am not 100% sure of it is oursourcing. Not sure about salary. As for costs, I created a video about what is free and what you have to pay for: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3mUd5pnhK2MfZI hopefully this answers your question. For training, they offer an accomodation option you need to pay for. If you don't take it, you can live with whoever you want or alone. It's up to you.

@TabithaLaker
@TabithaLaker 4 жыл бұрын
Yes of course, because you have to return back to the base. It is never just 1 flight unless you are called for an emergency flight returning to base - then you would either fly there as a passenger or on a deadhead flight.

If I have a base chosen by the company, can they change it ? Example Madrid. Can they say, ok.from now on.your.base will be Edinburgh.
@TabithaLaker
@TabithaLaker 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, they can say that if they want to, but they rarely do. If they want you to change bases of be based elsewhere for a period of time they will ask you. At one point I was asked if I wanted to go to another German base for a month. I agreed, but it ended up not happening.

I think at 52 you should still be able to apply. Just ask yourself if you would be okay with mostly younger colleagues in the cabin sometimes telling you what to do etc. You just have to be very strong-minded to be a cabin crew for Ryanair :) Sorry I am not trying to put you off at all, just letting you know about the reality - which I am sure you may have already considered.
