@77smp

@77smp 4 жыл бұрын
@TheRenaissanceman65No, a seat is allocated prior to boarding without extra charge but you don't get to choose it.
@77smp
@77smp 4 жыл бұрын
@TheRenaissanceman65 That's not correct. You get given a specific seat number on your boarding pass regardless if you have paid extra. The way they increase the uptake of seat selection is by using the algorithm to split groups plus offer increased carry on luggage. Nobody walks on a Ryanair flight without already knowing where they are sitting. They go to great lengths to promote the benefits of paid seat selection based on the previous reasons plus avoiding a middle seat. If you don't believe me, ask Ryanair or anyone who has flown with them in the last few years.
@77smp
@77smp 4 жыл бұрын
@TheRenaissanceman65 Plus the only benefit now of being at the front of the queue is to ensure that you have a better chance to get overhead storage. You may or may not be aware that the resizing of Ryanair carry on luggage must now be able to fit under the seat. From my experience this is not often an issue. But if your bag is too big or you have an extra bag then a hefty charge may be forthcoming.

low cost flights can be good if you plan everything with precision . I use Ryanair for flights to UK if just myself and very little baggage . I wouldn’t expect luxury at the low prices and just want to get somewhere as cheap as possible . This being said the prices can soon increase well past the advertised cost , with baggage fees etc often being expensive if left last minute . The only other thing i find with low cost travel is you need to be flexible about dates out and return etc as well as some flights being very early might entail a night in hotel or make a 5 day trip a 3 and a half days one ... and careful planning pre and post airport for onbound travel costs needs looking at .. for example if a flight is 9 pounds but goes at 6 am , i need to be at the airport 04 h 30 ish .. maybe 50 pounds for taxi or hotel plus food and drinks , then taxi other side can push a 9 pounds flight to a couple of hundred quid . This means i could have maybe got a midday KLM flight or something similar for less money overall and have the luxury of normal sleep hours ... experience says cheap online is never cheap in the wallet . All in all , Ryanair have never given me a reason to complain . If i were to pay 10 pounds for a taxi home , i wouldn’t think a chauffeur driven mercedes with driver in a suit and tie would come rolling up to meet me .... same thing for the flights .

All the long walks through the terminal, and time lost through polluting and inadequate, irrevelant, unnecessary, unhealthy products shops made me turn my back on aviation and flying. This is definitvely an irrespectful mean of travelling. Nothing is done to make it fundamentally easier and quick. Thus passengers overdue commercial, irrevelant, irrespectful decisions as too many superfluous sollicitations even if they have to give time, energy, and money. It's rude, impolite and badly-mannered. Moreover I DO NOT understand how boarding is started (even a pre-boarding) as long as the crew and the captain has not finished to take in account all the aircraft's state and DOES agree with it, accepting the plane. That's hypocritical. Even if we work on CDG and live close to it, we stopped flying, considering and watching flights offers, excepted for long haul flights, going to see my family in law in Argentina.

Cheaper than a train ticket from Bishops Stortford to London. I have flown many times with Ryanair. As far as bad landings go I’ve only experienced one. Usually they are on time or early. On one occasion my flight from Nice to Stansted was over 3 hours late due to a technical issue. I claimed compensation from Ryanair and received a cheque for over 3 times my return flight cost within 6 weeks. Ryanair have made it so easy for the average person to travel around Europe for a fraction of the cost of any other mode of transport. No wonder they are the most successful airline in Europe.

Interesting to see the Ryanair experience hasn't changed much with Covid. Still hanging around in stairwells and at the foot of the airstairs. Still, for £18.99 including seat selection it would be churlish to complain about it! Oh, and believe me, that was by no means busy for Stansted. In more 'normal' times the concourse is a seething mass of humanity at peak times.

I've only ever been delayed once with Ryanair and that was only 45 minutes. You get what you pay for, although I do think having passengers hanging around on stairwells and the tarmac is not a good idea - apart from anything else, it's hardly good health and safety practice. That said, my main grouse about Ryanair is how badly they treat their staff.

I enjoyed your video Dylan but I really dislike Ryanair. I used to fly with them a lot between Liverpool and Dublin back when you could get tickets for £3 in 2007/8 (before the financial crash). Always got decent service but I wouldn't use them now, I don't like their ethics, the way they treat their staff is pretty rotten and I've heard some horror stories about how some wheelchair passengers are treated. I'd pay more to travel with a better company. It's like the £3 Primark t-shirt - somebody somewhere is getting ripped off to offer such consistently cheap prices.

I love Ryanair, I really don’t get the stick they get. They are so cheap. I have flown from uk to the other side of Europe for £16 before all in including bag in cabin and seat selection. £16! Well £15.99 😂 I don’t care if the service and seat is crap at that price. As you said as long as they get you from a to b safely, which they do, then I am thrilled! Without Ryanair I would not have been able to afford to travel around Europe like I have been able to do and for that I thank them.

Get what you mean about waiting for planes to be ready. Coming back from Budapest Ryanair boarded everyone, we all had to wait in a stairwell type thing like you did, then got let out on the tarmac, only to discover the plane was 20 minutes behind and still 10 minutes or so off even landing. Thankfully it was a nice sunny morning but I did wonder why shove everyone through when there's no plane to board?

Comments on Ryanair are legion, but they do a pretty good job at what they do, getting you from point A to point B. which is why anyone takes a trip anyway. Flight looked rather empty, but I'm sure the lack of pitch might be a problem when it's full. Still 25-30 USD to Milan would make up for that. Good job. Just an explanation for what happened to you at the end of the video: in Italy is strictly forbidden to film or take pictures of the "air side" of an airport, due to an old (very) anti-terrorism law and due to the fact that (lot of years ago, cold war) almost all airports where military bases also... the world change, laws are slow to adapt.

Ryanair presses its staff. Don't you feel like it? Then you get lost. In any case, this happened with the staff based in Eindhoven. Pilots must score their annual flying hours. Michael O'Leary (the boss) knows that and squeezes them out too. Apparently they are considering buying even Chinese aircrafts. Boss Michael O'Leary has not a single ounce of decency and only goes for money. Why the tickets are so cheap? High prices on the plane, poorly located airports (costs almost nothing), pilots who sometimes only fly for their flight hours, cabin and ground personnel who earn minimal wages and are out if they just fart. On principle I NEVER fly with this company, period!

Thanks for sharing your experience w/Ryanair. I had a similar flight out of London Stansted Airport a few years ago on Ryanair. Stansted looks pretty much the same as it did when I went through it. I was expecting a jetway from the gate to the aircraft, but like you, I had to walk downstairs and onto the tarmac. The only small problem with my flight on Ryanair was that it seemed as if many of the passengers on the flight were talkative and carrying on conversations throughout the cabin. I had to put on some earbuds to flush out all the voices around me. Also at the time, rumor was out that Ryanair was planning to charge for the use of the toilets. I initially paid 15 quid for my flight, but because I didn't know any better at the time, I had a checked bag that brought my ticket price up. Lol. Lesson learned to travel lighter.

Stanstead is my local airport, yet I will happily go a bit further down the A1 or ECML to London to get a different carrier to Europe than Ryanair. Why? Well, I detest the boss of Ryanair, he is an awful man who treats his staff and customers like sh*t when he needs to (which is basically when it's going to cost him a bit of money). Moreover his sniping at other airlines is both petty and ridiculous considering what service level he dishes out to customers when things go wrong.... And therein lies the risk of flying with Ryanair. If all goes well, and you want no frill then fine. But if there is any issues like delays or flight diversions they can often leave you stranded and out of pocket. You pays your money, you take your choice and risk. Not for me.

Stansted is lovely - but the price from London by any mode of transport is incredibly steep and generally double the price of the flight. The thing with Ryanair is that, sure, they're cheap... but you can never trust they'll be on time and in my 30+ flights with them, they've been more delayed than on-time. Although it's a shame everyone talks of "Ryanair hard landings" - they're not better or worse than any other airline in my experience!
