Florida really ai a fun state overall, great places to visit and year round activities. The humidity can be quite brutal in some spots but thankfully my home is right on the Gulf of Mexico roughly 20 miles north of Clearwater Florida so there is always a breeze that helps to make it a little less noticeable.

Lovely footage as always Ryan 🙂✈ This aircraft really reminds me of a once popular quad jet avro which is increasingly rare in Europe now. Didn't realise the history of the aircraft. Great trip, happy travels

I'm finally getting a chance to watch this. I've really been looking forward to it. It's been a long time since a 328JET was on any type of passenger service anywhere around me. Great Plains Airlines is really the only one that comes to mind. They flew in and out of Tulsa with the 328JET and the original turboprop 328. Great stuff my friend!

Great Video. I used to fly charter from DFW-SKX in the 328Jet for Great Plains. We didn't have approval to go into Angel fire due to the airport elevation. Those flights were a blast!

Really neat Ryan! I came across a 328JET flight in December in which I rode it from Toulouse to Friedrichshafen (Sun-Air of Scandinavia on behalf of BA). I was one of only two passengers! Take-off video is on my channel. I also went to the Dornier Museum in Friedrichshafen, although I'd say it is not worth going out of your way for like I did (neither was the nearby Zeppelin Museum)

Wikipedia says Taos Air doesn’t use TSA security checks at Dallas Love? How is that legal? This is an airline right or something else?
@RyanBomar4 жыл бұрын
The TSA stuff is behind the scenes, it's not like you have to walk through a traditional metal detector, but there are methods that ensure safety. Also, a complete background check is done of every passenger when the ticket is purchased, so if there are red flags, your ticket will be cancelled.
@6862ptc4 жыл бұрын
@@RyanBomar: if I understand the FAR's I believe ANY airline that is "common carriage" must have their passengers screened by TSA using metal detectors. Because these passengers have access to the interior of airports served by part 121 airlines.
@JamesThompson-oz8kh4 жыл бұрын
@@6862ptc Taos Air does not use the 121 terminal but uses private FBOs and so are exempt. You do need to present a "REAL ID", passport or current government ID like you would with a 121 carrier but TSA screening is not required. at the airport.

@@JamesThompson-oz8kh, I see, so this isn't a Part 121 or 135 scheduled airline?
@JamesThompson-oz8kh4 жыл бұрын
@@6862ptc It is listed as a public charter company. I don't know what part its listed under. I can assure you, however, that the lawyers and FAA sorted this out long before the first flight. Update: It is a Part 135 operation.

I've always thought the DoJet was a "fun" looking airplane but no first hand experience with one, I've only ever heard of how poor it was relative to the competition... Watching your vid fully shed light to how bad the DoJet was vs her competition and why she wasn't a success. The ERJ family burns roughly 1100-1200 lb/hr at M0.78 while at 37k doing a solid 450 average GS... this thing is only doing 0.64 while nearly 950 lb/hr a side and an abysmal 333 kt GS... and a huge seating revenue earning potential less with it being a much smaller seating capacity. A true shame because she's a unique fun looking jet that just had too small a niche of short field to ever be a runaway RJ success.
