Funny. I can see a lot of parallels in my choice of gear. Canon 5D Mk3 (only for photos), GH4 (and yes, I used to fly that on a S900 and S1000), DJI X5 (for use with Osmo Pro or S900) and now GH5. Metabones Speedbooster Ultra, yes. Canon 24-70mm 1:2.8 Mk1 IS, Canon 70-200mm 1:2.8 Mk2 IS, Canon 100-400mm 1:4.5-5.6 Mk1 IS and a few primes, but only used occasionally. Need to source a nice wide-angle zoom lense, yet. I have a few native M43 lenses, like the Olympus 14-42mm electric zoom one, that I bought for being able to zoom optically while in flight with the S900 and the DJI X5. And you're right: lugging a lot of gear around is not a good plan. Even my Airdog II drone is a bit too big to lug it around on longer travels. Microphone on the go: InstaMic Pro and Røde Wireless Go II, but for voiceover a Blue Yeti does the finest. I also bought the XLR add-on for the GH5, which means, I can use a studio mic with it, if I need to. On the bags: all my bags got replaced with Peak Design bags over time. Even my travel bags. I also use their tripods and a lot of their mounting gear. Really a one stop shop for all your photography accessory needs. Just my 2c. And I'm just an amateur. But your choices of gear there make a lot of sense, especially if you've tried to lug oodles of gear around for an extended period.

I have GH5 and GH5s, practically I always shoot GH5s. It's a camera whose image quality I like. For some reason I haven’t purchased ND filters, that is something need to be purchased. I only use Panasonic lens - do not know if other brand would be better? By using Ninja V can use SSD disks - and not expensive SD cards. Ronin is nice be, but so heavy that it needs support hanging to body.

I think the extra benefit you get from using a metabones is that your sensor gets extra protection while changing lenses, don't you think?

Definitely. It's always a feeling of extra security when changing lenses and seeing the Speedbooster glass over the sensor.

Hi Ryan, first off I love your content, please keep it coming. I recently upgraded from a GH4 to GH5II. I’m so inspired by your work that I’ve managed to acquire a very similar kit ( GH4II, tokina 11-16, metabones .71, canon 24-70 II , sigma 18-35 and a bunch of native micro 4/3 glass. I see lots of GH4 and GH5 footage with a greenish tone that looks kinda gross. Somehow you manage to avoid this as you have some of the best GH5 footage I’ve ever seen. Very warm and rich colors. Is this due to your grading, camera settings or lenses? Thanks

Hi Ryan, greetings from Brazil. I appreciate the videos you publish. I also shoot with a GH5 and I have a question. When SD cards are full, I would like to know if you delete the files or format the card.
@FalecomJake3 жыл бұрын
Hi Nilton, If the footage is transferred or you no longer need the footage on the card I personally believe it is always better to format the card, having worked in the TV industry this is common practice! It's to ensure the card is wiped and compatible with the camera you will be using.

Ryan, Do you use the 60P setting and slow it down in post or do you use the 60P variable. Some people I have watched say you can't compete with the slow mo with variable. Which do you use? and if you don't mind to elaborate on why and why you think one is better than the other... Going to get your back pack. I've been shopping and looking. Cheap back packs always die on me within 6 months. Thank You.

Hi Ryan, Is there a way to read how much space is left on your SD card in the GH5 through the camera or is the only way you can tell how much space is left is when the card is plugged into your computer? Do you use the ExFat format or the MacOS (Journaled) format for your SD card? Does it make any difference?

Hi Ryan, thanks again fior this. I see do you often shoot at 60 FPS. Why do you shoot at 24 FPS and not 30 regularly, because 60 it’s a better multiple of 30, not 24. There are many youtubers who switched to 30, also because our devices have a 60HZ refresh rate in 90% of the cases. 24 is more jittering, overall when you pan, due to the rolling shutter (I guess). What do you think about? I really would like to know :)
