My track club track is an outdoor track. I had been struggling for nearly two seasons to get my car to work for me and I put this setup on it with a couple of little tweaks of my own on the front and man.... Absolutely changed everything. I was sort of competitive for the first time. Thanks for sharing this setup man.

3 months late… lake park was my first! Lol. Just getting back into it and I was going to take my daughter there tomorrow, but they are doing maintenance so it’s closed. I haven’t been there almost 30 freaking years. Still might head out to give them a hand. I like your videos. Pretty deep stuff… thanks man

100% agree that it takes more skills to be able to race on a dirt track,it's definitely a lot more entertaining from a spectators point of view and when it comes to rc there's not much that's more rewarding than having a car that's super fast on a low traction dirt track.

Need more 2wd SCT tips and tricks and race action - OUTDOORS! Keep up the great work man..
@kyle11083 жыл бұрын
The SCT 3.0 has a standup tranny in it stock. The SCT's are weighted heavily forward due to long chassis and extra tower/bumper weight. In loose loaming tracks run as much weight as far back as you can and as much toe-in in the rear you can. And run a Holeshot type tire.

Great shots, those buggy movements close up is the best thing, shame you don't see the big race coverage exactly like that, there's so much in it. That is actually why I love buggy racing and especially 2wd. Those whips were awesome, kudos to your friend Kenny. Hope to see him get really consistent besides fast and thus successful. Camera work was awesome too. Paint job is awesome as well, I prefer it to the other one. But as you plan, it fits outdoor really well.. I wish there were shots like this of BK back in his heyday... Rip Brian. Cheers

Do you know anything about basher/recreational setups? I like the simplicity/fun (and price) of 2WD, but I also want to be mixed surface (on/offroad), high speed, and maybe even drifting if possible all on the same chassis with only a setup change. And I generally like the looks of buggies the most as far as the traditional styles of RC car go. Though, obviously for offroad bashing I'd need taller tires.

Ryan, i just found your channel, sorry to necro an old video. I'm looking to geet started & have pretty much narrowed it down to 2 buggies & TLR is on the list. My fear is that with the X4-Eliite having a couple of years on it now that I'll pick one up & there will be a new release to compete with Xray/AE & I'll feel like i missed out. Should I wait closer to summer (My local track is outdoor & has been closed) to make a decision?

I have been watching your videos for a while now. But just subscribed. I like the way you explain things. So I have one question. Did you take the sway bars out because the track was just so loose that even the smallest sway bar would be to much. Because we race on a ball park in the Florida keys. And it looks just like that same dirt. Sandy clay.

My local track is right next to a zoo and the bunny cage is the closest, and during a 1/8 buggy race a bunny somehow got out of the cage and onto the track, and of course lil bunny man stops right after the biggest jump and here comes a flying buggy and landed right on the back of the bunny and somehow he got away from it injury free

I've seen the amount of (toe in) on your 2wd. A bit less of rear toe in under those track contitions could probably help you out exiting the corner. But that's just me saying. Haven't you felt a bit less grip on the rear getting in corner with that amount of rear toe in?

Just wondering, do you use (activate) Drag Brake on your setup? What about brake setting? Is it 100% or so? Thanks.
@RyanHarrisRC3 жыл бұрын
When you let the throttle go to neutral, a percentage of brake can be applied by the ESC to help corner entry. 100% would be 100% of your brakes and the car would stop completely lol some people run about 10% on average

So i’m finish this video now, and i just wanted to add, the motor on the other side is the difference between stand up and laydown… the weight position is minimal, but the torques are driving the rear down, where on laydown the torques are against eachother… if your experienced and think about it you’ll know what i mean… tires and engine same way, or opposite ways…

I see no one answered you on this, but yes this the correct part number for the standup. Only thing else you may need depending on the track is a different battery holder depending on how far back you want the battery.

@@kyle1108 thanks, I figured it out but I appreciate the response! The stock battery hold down should be fine unless I want to move it all the way back and if so I’ll tape it like he did I guess.

Looks like real off-road like the old days. Not the glorified road tracks with jumps. Also seemed not too many jumps for the sake of jumps, which tracks seem to look like now
