Hi RHPC! I'm a local from the Philippines and I just wanted to explain how the language systems in the Philippines work. There are in fact dozens of languages in the Philippines. A dialect is a regional variation of a same language. For example, a two people from different places in the Philippines could speak their versions of Tagalog, with slight changes in words and pronunciation. However, Tagalog, Ilocano, Cebuano, etc. are all different /languages/ because they all have a unique set of words and grammar. It might seem like a small detail, but for us it's the difference between generalizing and entire culture as similar to another when the Philippines is actually divided into dozens of different cultures and languages. I'm not upset that you guys didn't know better; many local Filipinos don't know the difference either, but I thought you'd find this interesting to know also! I've been a fan of Ryan's since he began KZbin, and I even got to see him and RHPC live at the KZbin Fanfest in Australia (my family was visiting some relatives at the same time the event was happening.) As a pinoy I'm always proud to see my fellow kababayan succeed, especially in the entertainment industry and especially on a platform as competitive as KZbin. All love, mahal ko kayo! :)
