@Mixman11335 жыл бұрын
I loved the discussion on cancer culture, very fruitful and interesting hearing these guys' perspective since they are in the middle of it all as opposed to us viewers. I do just want to say that I believe people, entertainers, comedians, and all should just do what they feel is right and genuine to yourself. Because at the end of the day that's all you can really truly be, yourself. If you cater to the masses just to appease them then is the content you're creating really YOUR content? If it's just making you stressed out to create this content then are you really doing what you love. I know it's not exactly the most wise decision to what you want business-wise sometimes but I feel it's the person with the most confident and genuine persona that decides how far they make it. Just look at someone like Snoop Dogg, who smoked weed openly throughout his career and is heavily known for it yet during the early stages it was looked down upon, yet still is able to make it in his own industry and even to the pinnacle.

Bro, that settles it: confidence comes from upbringing. When I hear many people who talk about how they're so confident, they say that their parents were really supportive of them and loved them (not saying that you can't build confidence later on in life but that takes time and effort). I came from an upbringing where if I didn't get straight A's, I'd get physically disciplined. I wasn't allowed to do certain things that I wanted to do because my parents' mentality was (and still is) "You don't know what the f you're doing. We know better than you". So they made decisions for me growing up and right now, I'm 26 Y/O guy and I'm barely making adult decisions for myself, starting back when I was maybe 24/25 years old. I used to have really bad self-doubt and low confidence in myself because I'd always question my actions like "am I really doing the right thing? What if I fail?". Now, after screwing up a bunch and going through real life, its like who cares what the result of my actions are as long as I believe in the decision I made and went through with it full force. For me, I recently realized that I build more confidence in myself by making more decisions and taking responsibility for my actions. If things turned out well, great, I made the right call. If things turned out sour, well, maybe I learn a life lesson and improve upon it. Make your own decisions and stand by them. You'll build confidence.

Create something and you will know. Not only youtube content but also art in general. It's not only about the money, it's about the reception/feedback, integrity, the impact on people (positive and negative) etc. There is some sort of hidden pressure not known by the masses that comes with creating especially if you have a big audience, the responsibility of that kind of "power" can be overwhelming.
