Man, I'm at work and I'm crying! Have never heard this version, but definitely the best! Like my brother says, Jerry made me a better human being! Thank you!

Jerry is such a beautiful emotion based guitarist. And listening to him and John and Hopkins on the keys is just magical. It seems like there was always some magic no matter what point in his life it was at. What a beautiful version. By far the most in depth out there version ever played nothing but love from and for this version of this beautiful tune. He always seemed to find things that no one knew in songs they had heard a million times.

One of Zimmerman's best, done by the best. Good SBD quality, too. If this song does nothing to your core, either you have no soul or you're too young & haven't seen shit. Spine shivers & damp eyes abound hearing versions like this. It can make one miss him even more.

Hey Ryan, U have some great recordings. 79 was my favorite year for Jerry outside the Dead, 74 in the Dead. I believe that jerry and Merle made JGB into reconstruction. This was a band playing the same songs, just spreading the music around 2 each member. It wasn't as centralized on Jerry, but inevitably the brightest star can't be hidden. Thanks fam!

jerry's, and just as much the grateful dead's original works speak for themselves; but its amazing that jerry was able to take music from other great artists and make them even better.

I’m not a big fan of the sound that Ozzie gets from his keyboard but man could he play. Jerry getting all those new tones with Tiger in 79 and 80. You can tell it was exciting for him to be playing such a sweet new guitar.

The song is a great tribute to Bob Dylan. And I like how folks take covers as if one is trying to do a better version of song. False. Respected by another artist like master-Jerry Garcia means you must be somebody. Bob Dylan - one of the MOST covered R&R artist of all time. That alone speaks volumes. Thus, I'll keep it with mine.
@janeseamore13705 жыл бұрын
There is no one here or who wrote this or played this here that is an "artist-like master". if you knew Dylan and wrote that to him he'd call you a sniveling tit or something. God bless Bob Dylan. He gave us incredible songs and even he admits Garcia played them best. don't believe me? go ask him. hes around
@janeseamore13705 жыл бұрын
by tribute you mean what? the fact someone play his song doesn't mean it is being played for the composer. its just a great song. and i'd watch you language n that "a great tribute to Bob Dylan" makes me think this song is about him.
